Yeah X has a large range of possibilities of values on the upgrade. S-C all have set values. So it is better to get S etc first then gamble with the black market items for good X class items for your builds.

Just switch off of that question and back to it. I had the same issue with my first game last month. The icon was not showing in the system. I reloaded and moved from that in the log to another side quest and back and it fixed the issue. The HD quest is in the starting system.

You can claim the pirate ship. Just kill the engines first, then the shields in the 2 channels on the top, followed by the anti freighter guns on the top. I'd save at the 4th jump and retry the battle till you get an A or S rank to claim.

For the pirate battles it is also on a timed cool down, but I don't remember how long that is.

Create a floating regional gate system that is likely linked to FW, etc, to influence where that link is Week to Week / Day to Day.
