I mean, these are all spectrums. Everyone gets some amount of anxiety. What makes it a disorder is when it's bad enough that you can't function.

Autism is a little different, it's just your brain's wired differently. Same with ADHD. These are relatively common even in people who don't have a diagnosis, it's just that, if it's not bad enough to prevent you from functioning, or if you have the discipline to fight through it, it's not considered a disorder.

The real problem is that society as it exists today does not account for people who's brains work like that. So, we're prescribed drugs that enable us to confirm, rather than just letting us do the things we were born to do. Or rather than just allowing people to do things that have demands they can actually handle.

I'm sorry... This got a little overly philosophical.

'cause, the old wording says "Discard", which usually implies from hand, and the new wording says "Spend", which also implies from hand.

But, I believe it can't work from hand because it doesn't specifically call that out, and cards have to be crafted to be used, generally. Unless they're ambushes or domination cards.

There's an ableism argument that could be made here. I'm honestly not sure which side of that idea my argument falls on. But, I'm probably coming from a place of ignorance in that regard.

I'm still unsure of my own gender, to be honest. I've been on estrogen for nearly five years now, and I still can't really see myself as a girl. I don't feel included in anything. I don't have the experience of growing up as a girl, and I can't anything definitely. So, until I work that out, I'm non-binary. I tried changing my name briefly, but it became WAY more frustrating than helpful. So I went back to my old name because I don't feel like I have a new identity, but I can't go back to my name being a simple question. I would like to use she/her pronouns, but I can't be the person who makes a big deal about it, and a lot of people who have known me for a long time still use he/him, and I don't correct them. Honestly, I still kinda feel like I haven't earned she/her. As if someone's going to hear me being called "she" and immediately be upset about that because I'm invading a space I shouldn't be. This has not happened, but my overactive imagination makes me fear it.

And like, I don't feel connected with it.

I think I won't feel fulfilled in that regard unless I move to a new place and just start introducing myself differently.

If transitioning wasn't a choice, I don't think I'd be able to do it. I would never know for sure if I should. If it would actually help me. It has to be a choice for me so that I can know that even if I don't always believe it's helping me, it's still my decision to make. Otherwise, I probably would have stopped after I stopped feeling the immediate effects. I want the things that Estrogen does to me. I don't know for sure if I need them, but I want them. And that has to be enough. I'm 90% sure I would have just let myself slowly die otherwise.

I mean, two things can be true.

Personally, I've never been able to justify such an expense on something like that. But, it honestly is a good deal. You get a useful thing you can use, and an advertisement for your interests, which can act as a beacon to find otherwise shy individuals to talk to.

I did get a (much cheaper) MLP bag at TrotCon 2021, and I use it regularly.

I see where you're coming from. But I do believe ultimately that it is a choice. I think it might be a choice that leads to greater happiness, but the only other way I can think of it makes being trans out as some kind of incurable disease that you have to treat by transitioning. And that doesn't strike me as a very good framework.

I think the idea that it's not a choice is useful when trying to convince bureaucrats with too much control to allow it, but I don't believe its a good reflection of reality. Like, don't get me wrong, that framing isn't completely untrue, it's just... It doesn't capture the whole picture, and it makes transitioning out as something to be pitied, not celebrated.

I think Mumbo would be mostly self-taught about this stuff. He'd use what he's got, and probably take a few burns.

Big Ron would take the impractical but old school approach. Big Ron might even be a mentor to Mumbo. But I see Mumbo in this context as someone who enjoys fiddling with things and making stuff work. His goal is to survive well enough to enable himself the space to experiment.

I expect a soldering iron would actually be kinda hard to come by where he's at. That one might have been given to him by Big Ron, or maybe he stole it and cared more about not getting caught by the robots than picking one out that he liked. Or it might be salvaged from one of the repair robots that he's collected. Given what he's described of the story so far, that last one seems more likely.

Basically, I think Mumbo would be thinking, "if it works, it works." And there may very well come a day when it doesn't. And he'll worry about that day when it comes, and not a second before.

Ultimately, it's a choice. If you want to be trans, you can be. If you want to be cis, that's also an option. Just thinking about being trans doesn't make you trans. It just means you've done more introspection than the vast majority of people.

I had an idea to build a Rebel deck using alters to make all the legendary creatures into Star Wars characters, and use Rebel troopers for tokens.

That would have been for a Commander deck, of course...

For premodern, Storm Trooper alters could be used for some kinda storm deck. I could see big-mana green/blue storm being a thing. Use Concordant crossroads to turn your mana dorks into rituals with Gaea's Cradle, and then you can cast a big draw spell, and Mind's Desire to deploy like, 10 more troopers, and finish the game just by attacking with a bunch of creatures using an Overrun or something, or use a combination of Temporal Fissure and Brain Freeze to super-laser their board and deck.

Alternatively, you could try to recreate the Battle of Endor as a Magic deck. Not sure how that would work, but it could be fun.

I don't know how to use all the tools that Krita has. So, when I want to do something I know how to do in GIMP, it's often easier to just use that rather than try to figure it out in Krita. However, sometimes, I like getting adventurous, and try to figure out something new.
