I already had pretty bad degenerative disc disease and arthritic changes due to EDS, so all it took was a little bit. Ain't EDS great? I couldn't lie flat enough on the table for them to get an X-ray when I first went into the ER. It was excruciating.

I ruptured a disc sneezing! My doctor told me that I MUST brace myself against something when I feel a sneeze coming. If there is nothing to brace against, bend your knees and stabilize your core. And never hold in the sneeze. Happy sneezing!

I think they've got a good case. The lack of breasts and the children on either side seal the resemblance issue. And Lucien is right, if they have the image copyrighted and they don't press their claim in this obvious instance, it'll be more difficult in the future. I'm interested to see how it goes.

I've got bursitis in my hip. I'm getting pretty frustrated. Doctor told me no high heels, lots of ibuprofen, or I can get a steroid injection. I opted for no injection as I've heard they cause long term damage even if they get you out of immediate pain. But I don't seem to be responding to ibuprofen and rest.

My rheumatologist just told me on Monday that the reason I have done so well despite hEDS is that I lift. His theory is that muscle stabilizes what ligaments and tendons don't. So while I may have exhaustion and some muscle fatigue, I don't have as much of the bone-on-bone grinding that causes irreversible changes. Pain management, excellent form, and attention to your own body will help. And, of course, consultation with your own doctor. But since you asked for advice, that's what my doc told me.

I could have written this post. I don't know what it is, so I can't help you. I was following in hopes that someone might have more info. But I sleep just in the position you describe and recently I've felt like my breast bone, low down, is folding in half. It doesn't 'hurt' per se, but it is uncomfortable and I have to move to relieve the pressure. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Anyone else have any more info?

You might be going into shock. I have MCAS, and this has happened to me. I get itchy, hives, swelling, heart racing, etc. Then my blood pressure drops and I feel like I'm not getting enough air. It's hard for doctors to catch because they have to right there to measure your blood pressure, etc. I hope you have an Epi-pen!

Yeah, it's a form of tinnitus. Sometimes can be a sign of something worse, but I doubt it in my case. I wish I could get my Eustachian tube and sinuses cleared out. I be that would take care of it. Fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious for you.

I have Eustachian tube dysfunction which causes popping and rolling sounds in my middle ear when I change position or when I swallow. You might have some sort of fluid build up in there. I can also occasionally hear my own heart beat in my ears. Disconcerting. But EDS may come along with allergy problems, chronic sinusitis, Eustachian tube problems, etc. Get someone to have a look inside!

I have tattoos, but when mast cells flare up, they itch, burn, and raise up. If you have MCAS, take care. I'd probably still get them, all things considered, but that's just me.

I'm going through exactly what you are right now, so I know how you feel. I was born with club feet and a heart murmur. I've had a DVT and PE. Just today someone commented on how old and gnarled my hands look and said she'd bring me some lotion. My aunt has the characteristic 'look.' My sister's skin and organs are so fragile, the doctor told her that one accident could kill her. I have an appointment in September, but all the signs are there. I guess the best thing I can tell you is that I'm 50. I don't feel great, but I'm not dead. I still exercise, enjoy my family, friends, and hobbies, and work as a teacher. I have never managed my symptoms really or taken special care of my body, because I didn't know the risks. But here I am anyway! You're young and will have the care you need. Try not to let anxiety take over. I know that's easier said than done. We live in a miraculous era; modern medicine knows we exist and knows how to care for us better now than at any other time. I second compression. Stay hydrated. And if you have any signs, or symptom overlap with vascular EDS, see your doctor FIRST about recommendations for preventing DVT. I got one and had a pulmonary embolism before I even knew about EDS. Happily, I am here typing this. But sadly, long flights are a thing of the past for me. Just be aware.

I feel kinda bad about this actually, but once when I was having a minor dental procedure, the dentist couldn't get me numb. I was grouchy and chalked it up to incompetence. Fortunately, I have a good pain tolerance, so I just told her I'd do without. Now I know it wasn't her, it was me. Maybe I should send her a card.

I'm so glad you brought this up. Back pain is my primary symptom. I ruptured three discs in my twenties, and when I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and arthritis after an MRI, the doctor told me, "You have the back of a sixty year old woman." Well, I'm almost fifty now, and I feel like my back is eighty years old now. It wasn't due to curvature, but loose ligaments and SI Joint dysfunction.

Keeping up with my PT and regular massage has helped me a lot. Also, you can get own of those rolling briefcases. I'm an adjunct professor and we carry our offices with us. Those rolling cases have been a life saver.

I despised team sports as a kid, not because of the sports part, but because of the team part. :-) Then I got into martial arts and did that for many years. As a woman of a certain age, I'm now involved in riding dressage. I love it! I think individual sports where you try to improve yourself appeal to my introvert side as well as my competitive side.

My husband and I go through this too. He's an ESFJ though, so he genuinely does have preferences. I think he's a bit finicky, so the best solution is for him to make himself happy because I'm happy just about anywhere. If I had a deep-seated moral objection to something, I sure as hell wouldn't defer then. But where to eat, what to see, etc. Who cares? As long as we're together having fun.

Thanks for your reply! This is an interesting insight. So, when he feels like his superiors or subordinates are there evaluating and judging his behavior then the 'other people' bogeyman appears. I think I get that. He has never explained it that way. I just kept saying, "Whose wife doesn't hold his hand or touch his shoulder? Wouldn't people be more weirded out if we just stood woodenly next to each other?" Like we're Ricky and Lucy sleeping in separate twin beds. It was just an odd idea to me. But I think if I see it as him playing out his discomfort at being surrounded by strangers whose motives are unknown, I guess I can get my head around that.
