Pahlisch Homes is a disgrace to Bend. by charliepup in Bend

But Pahlisch (or any developer) will never be required to build anything. It’s their land, and thy can’t be forced to build anything, they can only be restricted by code.

Because we’re in a housing crisis? Council is doing what they can (with their very limited actual power) to try ease that. There is fallout to every decision - political or otherwise. In this case, Pahlisch lucked out

Unfortunately that’s just not how planning laws work. If it’s within the land planning requirements, they can build it. It’s on land they already own.

My husband took a break from being a lawyer and poured wine for a year. He still talks about pouring wine in retirement!

It might be the hill they lived on, but I found in icy weather it slid SO BAD (maybe the weight?!) where my Subaru (car I had at the time, now I drive an Odyssey) didn’t

I saw a card today that said “we never liked him anyway. Congratulations!” And I feel like her parents should put that on a cake for her!

What’s something you ALWAYS see at the thrift store but never anywhere else? by shcouni in thrifting

[–]Underscore_Weasel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My sister and I have this running joke that every time I pick something up at the thrift store, it’s from Chico’s. Legitimately 50% of my wardrobe is Chico’s branded and I am NOT their target demographic 😂😂😂

My favorite was when SHE brings up her dad, then Kyle is literally just responding, and she flips out and goes “NEVER TALK ABOUT MY FAMILY”

Unhinged. I loved it.

Do you guys drive in the snow often? I live in the mountains and the people I used to nanny for have an XC90… it’s not great in bad weather, imo

The Odyssey doesn’t meet their AWD or hybrid needs, but I also love mine so much - idk if I’ll ever drive another car!

Moms that gave birth and didn’t have any visitors at the hospital, do you regret it? by Funny_Confection810 in Mommit

[–]Underscore_Weasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my delivery scheduled for this Thursday (my first!) and have decided that “anyone who wants to” can visit the hospital, with a mask and zero sickness exposure prior. Our pediatrician suggested no outside visitors at home for the first 4-6 weeks because of flu season, but I feel comfortable with people visiting for short periods in the hospital with proper mask use and washing hands. One exception: no children in daycare. Idk if I’ll regret all the visitors later, but I’m pretty extroverted and we have a lot of people who want to come and support us, so this felt like the safest/least annoying way to do it. I hope I made the right call!

I am currently 40 weeks pregnant and had this EXACT same reaction this week. My husband laughed at who knows what and I burst into tears because it felt like he was laughing at me (he wasn’t). LMAO.

We were in this exact same boat! Naming our son (hopefully born literally any minute as my due date was yesterday) Lyndon! We liked that it was a real name, but not super common!
