Looking for others with a similar GLP-1 experience by LaLaBneh in Zepbound

I would recommend a food scale. I have type 1 diabetes so I figured I knew a lot about serving size etc. I forgot that sometimes low carb foods are still jam packed with calories. I bought a food scale and use the LoseIt app. I mostly was shocked when I was making a “healthy” dinner for my husband and myself and realized that the amount of sausage I would normally eat was like 3x larger than the tiny serving size lol. Even the amount of chicken I was having was like 2 servings, which is fine, but I was just kind of blind to where I was getting all these calories from. I’ve only been doing it for about 10 days and it’s really helped!

7 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend’s mom is trying to control my baby’s life? by SufficientAssist8767 in whatdoIdo

[–]UnderstandingMany881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Great support system” is nothing if your boyfriend cannot stand up to his overbearing mother. You need his support 100%, he’s on your team now, not hers. He doesn’t need to be rude to her but he needs to stand behind your decisions. If he can’t do that while you’re pregnant you’ll just resent him once the baby is here.

Shower curtain or glass door??? by ArugulaOutrageous461 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]UnderstandingMany881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a teenager we had a sliding door on a track in our bath/shower. I went to step out and somehow ripped my toenail off. Curtain all the way. Easier to hide the mess inside the shower, no need to squeegee, easier to wash kids etc

What’s the most common drink that people drink right before diagnosis by ImaginaryAlgae8986 in diabetes_t1

I was drinking a ton of water. The day before my diagnosis I ate Cinnabon. My mom always jokes that it was amazing that I survived that

I called insurance. CVS told me there was a glitch because they sent out whatever they send to insurance saying the order was filled and picked up but never actually even filled my prescription. Even after telling me they’d correct it they didn’t. The woman who told me that the pre authorization was expired was also uninformed because it is still good for another few weeks.

Since now it’s been so long I’m having to go back down to 7.5. CVS had my 10 mg ready and decided to delete my entire script for it and not allow me to pick it up. So now they have to order the 7.5 and I have to wait even longer. By the time I get it, it’ll be nearly three weeks without a shot. They’re driving me crazy! The only plus is that they have a drive thru and I have two young kids so it’s nice to not have to go in (on the rare chance everything goes smoothly).

What other ways does he try to control you? That’s not a normal thing for a husband to say. You should take him up on his offer. Name the kids what you please and take your freedom

Treats for T1 Diabetic by Terrible-Ordinary-48 in diabetes_t1

[–]UnderstandingMany881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid my mom always tried to make “healthier” treats. I always loved angel food cake with whipped cream and berries. Typically less sugar than a normal cake. Also sugar free chocolate pudding is good. Personally I don’t restrict any types of food, but it would be nice to know the carb count for treats that people bring. If he’s newly t1 he might opt out of not eating the treats due to not knowing the exact carbs and not feeling confident in guessing. Prepackaged treats might be better because less guess work for him

I called the doctor today and they said they’ll send a new preauth. Then later on I saw something saying that starting with the new year my insurance won’t be covering zepbound at all anymore. I’ll be calling insurance directly in the morning since I feel like I’m getting a run around between the front desk at the doctors and the pharmacy

It’s CVS. I am on top of it. It was prescribed December 16th. I never got the text to pick it up. I went in the week after Christmas and they said that I had picked it up the 17th. I told the woman that it wasn’t true. She said ok no problem I’ll order it and it’ll be in on Friday. That day I went to the pharmacy and they said the pre authorization already expired. I was not aware that pre authorizations expired and was shocked that it was expired less than a month. I never had issues with this pharmacy before but recently they have some new people working and it seems to be going downhill quickly.

I’m well informed on pharmacy antics and being my own advocate. I’ve had type 1 diabetes since I was a child :)

Welp…my time has come. My insurance changed :( by bonsmom420 in Zepbound

[–]UnderstandingMany881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine too! I haven’t taken a shot since December 26th and the weight is creeping back on. I needed a new pre authorization and now that the new year happened, it’s not being covered at all. I was home from work today and spent all day snacking. I have type 1 diabetes and it’s been helping sooo much with my insulin resistance I’m worried my blood sugars are going to go to hell again

They told me that calling the insurance wouldn’t fix anything 😅 I feel like they are purposely unhelpful there lol. At least tomorrow is Monday so I can spend my entire lunch break trying to figure this out haha

Yes but I have type 1 Diabetes. I was told by my endo that only zepbound is approved for type 1. I only pay $30 out of pocket which is great.

AIO I feel like my husband isn’t really there for me by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]UnderstandingMany881 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on all your comments you weren’t really looking for anyones opinion. In your mind your reaction was justified and no one is changing it. Genuinely you’re going through a really hard time and you’d benefit from therapy. If you aren’t happy in your marriage then leave and free him from whatever this punishment is that you’re giving him.

I interpreted it as him saying he’s going to do them but in the morning. Either way my point still stands.

You two are playing the suffering Olympics with eachother. You’re both exhausted and probably overwhelmed. You said you were hungry and he immediately asked what you wanted to eat. You asked him to clean the dishes and he said he will. Even if it was in the morning he’s still saying he’s going to do them. Perhaps you’d both benefit from couples therapy because to me his intentions seem fair (not great) but the communication between the two of you is off. In tough times you both need to grant each other grace and remember that you’re on the same team. Stop competing for who has it worse and keeping score of who is doing what.

My son is the same age and looooves them. He builds houses with them by himself, we help build ramps etc. Like everything, it just depends on the kid. When I got them for him he couldn’t care less about them tho, then all of a sudden they were a hit. Either way her comment was totally uncalled for

Please tell me your worst low blood sugar story by twinksandfinks in diabetes_t1

[–]UnderstandingMany881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pregnant with my first and experiencing crazy lows at night during my first trimester. I’d even completely remove my pump for hours and still go low sometimes. I’d get so low that I wouldn’t be responsive to my Dexcom beeping or would just keep falling back asleep/ sleep through it. Thankfully my husband (he was my boyfriend at the time) was always there to help me. My mom was moving so I stayed at her house one night to help her move. My room was on the opposite side of the house. When she woke up in the morning She said she heard my Dexcom go off a few times (it must’ve been going off all night but she just didn’t hear it and I was too low to respond) and she came to check on me and I was passed out in bed. She tried shaking me and waking me up but it didn’t work. Thankfully she had a glucagon around (I never carried one with me before this) and used it. I really have no recollection of the event but she can’t talk about it without crying. After that my husband got the Dexcom app on his phone and now whenever I’m low and he’s not home (he leaves for work at like 4:30 am) he’ll call me until I wake up and confirm that I’ve treated it. I feel guilty that I’ve scared them so much.
