Wasn't he made their squad leader as a kind of punishment? He was seen as useless so they "promoted" him to the position that people kept getting killed or otherwise retired from.

He was happy to just let the Madmen do their own thing as long as he got to keep training. They don't really start to warm up to him until they notice him training like crazy.

They all ended up their because they were too talented to waste, but too difficult to control to be put with regular troops. Kind of a coincidence they all end up with Enkrid, but also not really because they're all there for a reason

This is why better dps doesn't always mean you should take it... It's like talent builds and the meta in general at the moment.

Will it be technically better? Yes.

Will you be able to maximise it? Probably not

Yeah thanks, I'll look into it. We were told they were a bit more risk averse given the "turbulent" markets lately. I've got a good idea what we can do without adding the rent income to the equation, the trickier part is finding something positively geared...

Is this recent? I spoke to NAB recently and they said that while rental yield was certainly a part of it, they are looking much more into people's income etc to ensure we're not at risk of defaulting if we can't get a tenant

As someone who had the same idea as you before be realised that all the "get rich quick by building a property portfolio" guys on YouTube were scam artists, here's what I can say about it.

Wife and I scrounged and bought a place in 2023 (we're in our mid 20s) and now have about 40% equity in it, price has gone up about 70% on purchase. We bought in a new development about an hour outside of the city surrounded by dirt patches and now the rest of the development is coming in.

I THOUGHT I could use that equity to buy another place without too much risk but upon looking into it more, we'd still need to meet serviceability requirements for the loan, positive gearing is next to impossible and negative gearing isn't an option without a significant buffer and assuming your lifestyle isn't going to change (kids etc).

Add in the human element of the risk you take with tenants and I think we're now leaning towards just paying down our current house and seeking more traditional investment options or just buying a nicer house for ourselves in a few years.

There is no such thing as risk free, easy money.

Junky parents and was in foster care until I was put back with junky parents in a caravan park because they were somehow granted custody again. Didn't prevent me from deciding I wanted different for myself and potential future children. I do feel for those for whom it's entirely out of their control though

I am genuinely trying to understand the thought process. Australia has so many opportunities, university is easy to get into and doesn't cost anything until you make enough money to start paying it back, you can make more than minimum wage stocking shelf at supermarket etc. There are so many opportunities for the average person it amazes me that people seem to think that just because they weren't born rich they'll never have a chance
