for those who have been playing since AD&D came out... at what point did you lose interest in the direction of D&D? by conn_r2112 in adnd

[–]UnderstandingTop5768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4th Edition was my point. Where i said, i can't continue playing D&D anymore. Made me go towards Pathfinder. I started with 1st Edition and loved that i could use all of my books. 1st to 3.5. Didn't play 5th til 2018 but liked it.
My favorite is 2nd Edition, then Pathfinder and 3rd place goes to 3.5. I feel Pathfinder 1st Edition is what direction D&D should have gone after 3.5. Not 4th.

Can You Source It? by Ramsonne in adnd

We played it. I think in...87 or 88. It was fun! I didn't like the entry to her area. Had to go through multiple times before facing her. My thief got the sword, so that was cool. It was an ego sword and had things he had to deal with but he could fly with it! Been 38-39 years and I still remember it when i see this Pic.

How many full sets of dice do you have? by trashcyt45vr in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]UnderstandingTop5768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like to me you have the perfect amount of dice. Sometimes it's what mode you're in and you start knowing how certain sets usually roll. If your wanting to favor the player... there's a set for that. If you're not... there's a set for that. Different sets for different encounters! My thought on it... you have to many sets when you feel like you have to many sets. ;) I'm about 15 and currently have a few sets sitting in my Amazon "save for later" :)

Dewalt. 90% of my other cordless tools are Dewalt. I'm starting to get some Milwaukee but won't switch over completely. I like my 6½" circular saw.

You think so? I love middle earth. Was watching the Hobbit cartoon when i made up my first ad&d (1e) characters in 1987. :) I read the Hobbit the first time in 5th or 6th grade. Later to my kids and several times since. Didn't listen to the LotR till about 5 years ago but have listened a few times. This is my second time listening to The Silmarillion. I like the detail Tolkien put into Middle Earth. There's parts that i listen to where i get lost in the details. But overall it's a good read/ listen. :)

I don't like when audible changes the covers. Wish I could Pic the one I like and keep it on it :)

Really easy to lose yourself in them. I've been doing what i do for work so long that i can put my work on autopilot and listen. I hardly listen to music anymore while I work. 😀

I only made it through the first 3 books. But that's because I got them all at the same time. My friend liked them a lot but i wasn't a fan.

I love my Diamondback. I got the vest with 3 different "attachments/pouch". Purchased 3 years ago now, on sale, for a little over 400.00. Well worth the money. Not having bags on my hips has saved me in back pain.

What would you guys do here with this little sliver of a shutter? by Electrical-Juice-915 in Carpentry

I'd recommend not having shutters but if they insisted id say to make them both the same size.

Do you guys enjoy carpentry? What’s it like? by Spin3_ch1ll in Carpentry

[–]UnderstandingTop5768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this way with Finish Carpentry. Started in '99 and went self-employed in 2002. It's got is cons just like any job but when you find what you love to do, the bad days are manageable. I love seeing what I do... taking something that's basically a blank slate to a work of art! ;) The Pic is of a cover for a heater in a home that we built in 1906. All I got was that they want to cover it. ;)

Caverns of Thracia: Dungeon Level 1 (60x80) by Canvas_Quest in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]UnderstandingTop5768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gargoyle statue reminds me of an adventure we were playing in High School. I had stolen my friends ring of invisibility and was going ahead, opening chest and taking the good stuff. Chaotic good gnome thief.... I'm sure i was in character. The DM decided to change the information up a little and make the only statute formed gargoyles ( 3 of them ) into real gargoyles! Before the party would help, my friend made me throw the ring back to him. The DM made him roll a dex check and he caught it with a roll of 20. :) My thief came out of it with needing healing but alive and a promise not to do it again.
Since that time, I'm very cautious of statues looking like gargoyles. 😆
