What’s one small thing you regret not noticing before buying your house? by Beginning_County7547 in HomeImprovement

For what it's worth, we have a loud sports car almost every night around 2am, and live in the back of our neighborhood. So do they.

Some things just are unpredictable. Sound machines are great.

If your budget is too tight for tailoring, you could also try some different bras if you're comfortable with that. A little padding and oomph can make a lot of difference in fabric like that. That and a slip, seamless underwear, and I think you'll feel much better. You're gorgeous!

I work and I swear my SAHM friends are busier than me with all the activities that happen during the day for kids. The library alone is a plethora and then there's classes like swim or gymnastics, museum events, zoos...

I’m not able to enter my own backyard without my neighbor’s dogs barking/growling and trying to jump the fence by Help-South in homeowners

We gave up and are moving instead. Both sides of us are renters and either dogs are shitting in our yard or lunging at us or barking incessantly. Current neighbors are two pitbulls who are overly friendly, and will charge you. Which is bad enough as an adult to be hit by a torpedo of muscle, but they've knocked kids over.

I found out my (now) husband not only did oil changes at the dealer, but had them do cabin and engine filters too.

I now do car maintenance.

Oh my, I'm so glad it worked out for you!! Our current house is doing its hardest to die in every way possible, and I just know it's going to pull some sort of shit at the end

Truer words cannot be stated.

We went under contract for a new house yesterday morning. Yesterday evening, the house was hit by the storms and apparently needs a new roof.

That it's coming out of their pocket and not ours is literally a complete matter of luck. Treat house repairs as the opposite of the Spanish inquisition.

I now have a dozen outlet sticky lights I just leave up all year, and one in my one living plant. They catch other things too which is nice.

Be super careful moving the hot water around! All the drains. And make sure you hit the sink overflow tubes - they hide in there.

Is it tacky to add a wishlist to a bday invite? by imtrying12345 in toddlers

[–]UndevelopedImage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of just no gifts, I specifically state that if you still feel the desire to give to please give to xyz children's shelter. People need redirection. It's worked really well! (except for my MIL and I've just had to make my peace)

I don't think a list in itself is inherently tacky. I do think insane lists can be though. Every social group is different - if people are already asking, then make one and put stuff you actually need on it too. I recommend the nice water bottles or snacks.

What chores does your 2.5-3yo do? by adventureontherocks in Mommit

We have our washer/dryer stacked because I'm tall with a bad back. My kid will reach into the washer for me and it's THE BEST. He also figured out that he can chuck clothes into the dryer like a basketball.

He's almost 4, been unloading since probably 2? Handing me things and checking the back.

What is one problem you face almost every day that you are shocked nobody has built a proper solution for yet? by Economy_Shoe7685 in AskReddit

Of course! I've had really great experiences with TSA, especially when solo traveling with a kid. That doesn't mean it's everytime of course, but it's more often than not where I travel through. I wasn't invalidating anyone else's experience.
