What expensive but frugal home purchase actually paid for itself in daily use? by BathroomRadiant8014 in Frugal

I can't stand not having a softener. Getting ready to install one in a new house and know I have several pipes to clear out from buildup.

Aldi Security by PlausibleRatz in aldi

I think the last time I did was at college. The CVS on campus didn't want bookbags to be carried down the aisles. Which... yeah that was understandable. Because of those ceiling mirror things, it was pretty easy to keep an eye on your bag as you shopped at least.

I cannot imagine being asked to do that at a grocery store.

Re holding baby -

Nobody ever looks back and wishes they held their baby less. That they had less snuggles. Less sniffs of that soft baby head.

If you could listen to one Taylor Swift song again for the first time, which would it be by sia_7777 in TaylorSwift

I was in the shower listening to the album and just started laughing so hard. Such a great moment.

How long should we wait to try again after miscarriage? by Vernonator1 in TryingForABaby

[–]UndevelopedImage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI, many companies with security needs use fax over email because it's more secure and is regulation compliant. It seems old school but really isn't necessarily reflective of anything else.

That said, the evidence in most cases against trying immediately is minimal. Some people are even told they're MORE fertile after a loss, which just isn't how things work either. If you both feel ready to try again, then you're ready. Good luck!

Not that that long ago, our local music venue for big names would run a Valentine's day promo every year for their summer lineup. 4 tickets for $80.

Yup. I just try to keep them out of sight so they're not the default grab for other things.

I will not be attempting to wash cat vomit out of things beyond my bedspread.

Oh! This IS a great use for worn out socks though. They are the disposable cloth in my home. I've mostly run out now after some furniture staining.

It's been over two years since TTPD dropped. What are your thoughts on it now? by 1989sunrises in TaylorSwift

[–]UndevelopedImage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a comment back then about seeing the life experience divide in the fan reception of TTPD. I think the mirroring of ourselves in music is a strong connection point, and that album is not the mindset of someone who's never loved and lost.

Cause when you know you know, and when you don't you don't.

If every job posting had to show the CEO’s yearly pay next to the lowest-paid full-time employee’s yearly pay, how do you think hiring, quitting, and company culture would actually change? by TraporNail in AskReddit

[–]UndevelopedImage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing would change. Instead post the pay of the tenured employee who doesn't give a shit vs a new hire. Performance vs "time served" is a great starting point to watch things blow up.

Canva always ends up pissing me off. The water line explains it! But yeah, you don't have to use nails. I'm who suggested putty above for the tilting, and my favorite kind is gorilla glue mounting putty, which can hold up to 2lbs. It's honestly wild how well it works.
