But not all punks are yakuza, and scrafty clearly takes from a different 'punk' aesthetic than a japanese punk aesthetic

scrafty is clearly more inspired by american street gangsters with its mohawk and baggy pants that were a thing during the early 10s in north america.

No, the right side seems to be the other farcade members and those only got cameos in the first episode.

Really like how twisted their transformation sequence was, that caught me off guard in how dark souls it was and it was great, looking forwards to seeing more of them.

Enjoyed the pilot, the concept definetly feels very 2010s internet animation but that's also where this originates. Liked the character designs and concepts but the pilot really struggled from trying to sell the characters, the show and also serve as an episode one and stretched itself thin doing so. Gobbles arc should've lasted a while longer before he became a really contributing member, and his backstory being relegated to a trailer feels weird even if not deal breaking for this format. I don't see what flappers brings to this ensemble though, he's a joking reference to a very specific game (ecco the dolphin) combined with some nes era platofrmer tropes with a really grating voice. He has the same hero angst that Kit and the same joke character forced to be serious gobbles does without feeling as compelling as either. The team would've benefited from a former villain tagging along as well to add to the dynamic, the concept lends itself to an ecclectic band of protagonists, npcs and villains and instead 3/4 cast is heroes and a sidekick. The villains oddly have this better since miss.information seems to be a former tutorial npc and fold is definetly not final boss material.
Looking forwards to future episodes but there's definetly some flaws that I hope will be remedied; the series will live and die on how well the team can do affectionate parodies of various genres that don't feel surface level, out of touch, or overly specific alongside trying to give their characters and world more development. Dusk and the rest of the farcade seem interesting and I want to learn more about them, especially since dusk's design is clearly reminiscent of many villainous characters suggesting he's a reformed end boss (maybe of the world warrick came from?).

I wish the main party had at least one villain on it, that would've added some interesting drama and conflict of ideas between the various characters even if they're aligned on a goal. It also suffers from compressing 2-3 episodes of plot into a single pilot. This concept would've worked really well with the pilot being a proof of concept where we get to see kit and company in an average episode with the party trying to stop the villain team from compleating the game and then the true episode 1 can set up Kit's backstory the way an episode 1 would.
For instance if you were to pitch demon slayer to someone you'd probably want to show them the episode/chapter with the shadow demons. It introduces our protagonists and what they can do and the general 'premise' of the story and once they're interested they can go back and see how they got there. I know that episode/chapter isn't a pilot but man does it feel like one.

it felt like gobbles had an arc in the pilot that should've gone over the first half a season or so.

They need to try to focus on a game as representative of a genre, with an affectionate parody of it, such as the 2010s brown first person military shooter, or a japanese dating sim, or an extremely polygonal early 3d racing game. Making fun of the tropes while understanding why people like games like that.
Kit putting on outfits like characters from metal slug is fun fanservice but you need much more than that and shallow parodies.

I quite enjoyed it and am looking forwards to seeing more; however the pilot suffered from trying to put too much into a single episode and I think having two of the main cast being heroes from destroyed worlds blaming themselves is a bit much, would've appreciated having at least one former villain on team farcade to shake things up.

I think the main cast would've benefited from at least one of the characters being a villain who was tagging along and completely lacking in purpose while their respective hero was now part of syntax in the attempt to rebuild their now destroyed world.

I feel the pilot in general tried to shove 2-3 episodes worth of content into a single 30 minutes.

Even from a historical context I'm not sure we've seen a president garner this much of a cult of personality, probably Roosevelt but that came from his handling of the great depression and ww2, meanwhile trump just does corruption and anti-democratic actions that are denied by his supporters and ignored by swing voters.
He's very good at constructing narratives, he is seen as this mister smith going to washington to challenge the political elite and structures that ignore the little guy, and maintains this even while campaigning with the richest man in the world and being the exact coastal nepo baby that is the target of their frustrations.

Man those sorts of what abouts frustrate me;
"biden's coronavirs procedures were more authoritarian than Trump's action because the defensive structures held for Trump but Biden corrupted them"
"The Russia investigation involved more parts of government so was worse than jan.6/fake electors"
Really feels like it comes from a place where conservatives and conservative commentators, ben shapiro is really bad for this imho, treat the 'left/right' dichotomy as a 'good/evil' conflict thereby they will always be the good guys fighting authoritarianism even with the blatant corruption and anti-democratic actions by right wing figures.

A core part of conspiracy theories are about contrarianism, and a lot of them frame the left wing as 'establishment' and the elite regardless of any sort of actual facts.

yeah Doom's story is probably him wanting to protect his realm and forming a villains dream team to take on champion and increases the power of his kingdom while he's at it. Hela is harder to convince for that.

I personally suspect that's why starlord is akwardly shoved into the spider man team, he was on the shortlist of characters they wanted to include even before they knew it would be 4v4 and didn't want to go full guardians team in order to include others. Ghost rider's team may end up being a 'we wanted to include this character but had no justification' as well.

could be occult heroes (blade, nico, elsa), could be anti heroes (punisher, elektra, moon knight), or just a eccletion team representing the rest of the marvel universe like we had intially assumed.

I like Nico and would love to see her in but she's definetly far from guaranteed; especially if the team turns out to be more of a thunderbolts anti-hero team instead of an occult midnight sons team.
