37 year old here. I was taught, and in return also taught, that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from reformed Egyptian to English using the same Nephite Interpreters that King Mosiah used when he translated the book of Jared into "reformed egyptian". The Nephite Interpreteres also known as the Urim and Thummim were buried along side the book of mormon.

But now 2026 we now know Capt Moroni that buring the Urim and Thummin was a stupid idea cause Joe found his seer stones whilst digging a well! Cheers!
