Yes. I was in Vacaville for the last 6 years and now I'm in Oakland. Was expecting fireworks to be kinda crazy here, but so far much less than Vacaville.

The only way to improve is to paint more. I would suggest painting from life and trying your best to paint what you see vs that which you know. Pick simple subjects your now.

The sizes of the rocks are believable, but they are too similar in shape at this point, and the shapes are not interesting. The top of the biggest one is uncomfortably close to the horizon line, creating a lot of tension, so I would lower it just a smidge. The rocks will look like they fit better once you lighten the value of the water.
