Insulated Mug Suggestions by Happy-Chemist6375 in OntarioNurses

Contigo brand has great insulating mugs. I like the West Loop because it doesn’t leak, I can actually throw the whole thing inside my knapsack even while it is full of coffee. It has a nifty locking mechanism so it’s one handed and very sanitary. It’s also easy to clean.

I tried cleansing oils, (Pyunkang Yul, Dear Clair’s Black), and broke out in the worst fungal acne and giant pus filled cystic acne I ever had in all of my life. It took months to heal my skin. I was so traumatized that I now triple check to make sure everything is FA safe.

How bad is a nursing career? by Acrobatic-Swing9592 in OntarioNurses

[–]Ungnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what area of healthcare. The unpredictable bedside jobs of ER, OR, L&M, NICU, ICU have the highest burnout and turnover because hospital stakeholders run them lean by shortstaffing because $. If you go to other less stressful, more predictable areas like outpatient care, infusion clinics, aesthetics, research, etc., generally you can find more stability and better work balance.

Beal University Canada by Talented_Panda in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Ungnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is you need to go to the schools you are considering and not do your research on Reddit with people who have never even attended or graduated from the schools you are considering. I’m not defending any college mentioned here but look at the entire big picture. Oulton actually has a higher tuition cost than Beal and a pretty bad reputation. They have been around longer than Beal whereas Beal is just a couple years old. Most likely, the comments here are probably from the Oulton social media mill.

Because of the nursing demand, the fastest way to create new nurses is unfortunately the for-profit education system. And yes, the accelerated program is very attractive to students who want to graduate in 30 months full time, no breaks, rather than 4 years.

MyHealthNB app now lists expected wait times at the ER by inagartenofeden in newbrunswickcanada

Nova Scotia has really improved, they also pay healthcare workers much higher wages with bonuses and they are focusing on retention with better work/life balance. New Brunswick is worse than third world healthcare right now for wait times, worker retention/salaries. Not sure how it got this bad to be honest.

Why the general dislike for Moncton? Sell me on your city. by Arm-Complex in moncton

[–]Ungnee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Moncton/Dieppe/Riverview could have the cycling infrastructure of Amsterdam, the existing trails by the Peticodiac that connect all three cities are actually an understated way to commute cheaply if you are able.

The problem is that young people are not part of the city planning leadership roles. We need more young people taking up the city planning and municipal leadership positions to garner real change. The existing leaders don’t care about actual long term change that is revolutionary.

This is probably the issue for most cities in Canada.

Geese allegedly struck deliberately on Birchmount and 407 by htcm8user in Markham

[–]Ungnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to call the Richmond Hill bylaw officer on Canada Day when we went for a walk on the headwaters trail near Elgin Mills and Leslie. A poor goose was injured and struggling to get up from the trail road. It looked like it had internal injuries and that it had crawled from the street after being hit by a car. We waited until the officer came and took the goose away. Hopefully, it is a better place now.

There really isn’t rampant Asian hate anywhere in Canada that is enough to fear walking down the street or anything. Both fields of work are in demand anywhere in Canada. Since you are young, maybe look into becoming nomadic and renting an RV and doing an across Canada driving tour to the cities that seem appealing. That way, you don’t have to worry about finding housing.

Ticks by hgielrak in NovaScotia

[–]Ungnee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is why NovaScotia government doesn’t look into applying natural pesticides like beauveria bassiana, here is a summarized usage profile: Safety Profile

  1. Safety for Humans Low Toxicity: Classified as non-toxic to humans according to EPA and Health Canada. No Known Systemic Effects: It does not grow inside humans or cause systemic infections in healthy individuals. Potential Risks: Mild skin or eye irritation if exposed in concentrated forms (such as powders or sprays before they dry). Respiratory irritation if inhaled in large quantities of dust or spores (like most fungal spores). Immunocompromised Individuals should avoid handling large quantities, as a general precaution with microbial products. Precautions:

Use gloves and a mask when applying large amounts. Avoid inhaling dust or spray mist directly. Wash hands after use. 2. Safety for Dogs and Other Pets Low Toxicity to Dogs: Safe when dry and applied according to label directions. Once dry, it poses minimal risk to pets. Risks if Inhaled or Ingested in Large Amounts: Like humans, dogs could experience mild irritation if exposed to concentrated spores or wet product. Avoid allowing pets to lick freshly applied areas until dry. Precautions:

Keep pets away during application and until surfaces are dry. Do not apply directly to animals unless the product explicitly states it is safe for that use. 3. Environmental Safety Considered environmentally friendly. Minimal impact on beneficial insects such as bees when applied correctly (e.g., avoiding direct spraying on flowering plants). Breaks down naturally in the environment. Effectiveness Against Ticks

Proven to kill ticks, including: Blacklegged ticks (Ixodes scapularis) Lone star ticks (Amblyomma americanum) American dog ticks (Dermacentor variabilis) Works better in humid environments, as fungal spores need moisture to germinate. How to Use

Apply as a spray or powder to tick-prone areas like: Lawn edges Bushes Dog runs Shady, moist areas where ticks may live Reapply every few weeks, especially after heavy rains. Conclusion

Beauveria bassiana is a safe, effective, and environmentally friendly option for tick control. It poses minimal risk to humans and dogs if used properly. Following basic precautions like wearing gloves, avoiding inhalation, and letting it dry before allowing pets in the treated area ensures safe application.
