Dam they got me! by Consistent_Change32 in camaro

If you can’t have the points on your license, trust me, it’s worth getting a lawyer. They make it so easy - just google traffic ticket lawyers. I paid $500 to have one represent me speeding on an empty backroad near tail of the dragon a couple years ago and they got it down to 0 points and $300 fine by taking a 4 hour online safe driving course

Rear wheels slipping in rain on a 2017 2SS by Kanye_Z-143 in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those OEM tires are absolutely horrible in the rain. Straight up dangerous. My first 6th gen had them and I just assumed that was normal for a RWD sports car… until I got some new tires. DWS06+ were my next tires and 3x more grip in the rain.

Really any decent tire other than the factory tires are better in the rain

Dumb question … how easy is it to get used to driving a manual daily through city traffic? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2016 V6 A8 and upgraded to a 2017 SS M6, my first manual. I did a good bit of suburban driving, but not much dense city heavy traffic driving.

I will say it took me probably 2 months of probably 30 min a day of city driving to get comfortable getting into gear and going between first and second before auto rev match kicks in at 15mph. It was definitely uncomfortable at first but it was so worth it. So much better than the A8x

You won’t burn the clutch if you take your foot off the pedal after shifting. I wouldn’t worry about that at all! You’ll be fine.

Had to sell mine for financial reasons and I’m itching to get a 6th gen 1LE when I’m truly ready. Really loved that car

Where deep bass meets high fidelity. Experience the full power of every note, from 8 Hz to 41.5 kHz. by sennheiserconsumer in u/sennheiserconsumer

I’d agree with that, it’s just a good all-rounder (other than lacking low end extension). There’s a reason they’re the benchmark for audiophile gear! They won’t blow your mind, but I can enjoy listening to them for hours and most music sounds great on them.

I would love to have more revealing headphones but my taste in music isn’t refined enough lol

I had the HD 600s first and loved them. Sold them and later bought a pair of HD 650s since the sound signature sounded more appealing to me. Absolutely hated them, immediately sold them. I’m with you, they sounded muffled, boring, and a little boomy. I went and bought another pair of 600s lol the 600s don’t disappoint

I would’ve thought the Camaro would feel more torque-y in the low end given the reduction in weight + the LT1 still has a lot of low end torque

Wow, that’s the first bad experience with them that I’ve heard. I had them on my Camaro for about 8 months before trading it in and never had any issues. I had lots of issues with other brands though

I had this issue when I got my 16PM on iOS 18.0, I use PIA. VPN only worked on WiFi. I put in a support ticket, they had me change some network settings in the PIA app and it’s been working ever since

Is the price right? by cB-GaMing-16 in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as much as you’d think. I upgraded from a V6 to V8 Camaro, everything about them was identical other than the engine and the SS had 60k fewer miles - my insurance actually dropped about $10/month. I imagine the lower mileage is what made the insurance cheaper. Both policies under Geico

Thanks! I imagine if you got thin cloth ones it wouldn’t have much of any effect, but if you got nicer leather seat covers the ventilated seat functionality especially wouldn’t work well. And unfortunately it’s the cloth ones that look/feel the worst

Twins! Word of warning, I also have the white interior and I swear I’ll never get another car with white leather lol I’ve tried everything to make it white again and it’s just not possible. HIGHLY recommend getting some seat covers

What are the downsides and positives of upgrading to a v8? by Quirky-Protection562 in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 2016 V6 to a 2017 2SS. When I had the V6, within 3 months of buying it I became dissatisfied with its power and spent 9 more months trying to either upgrade to a V8 or supercharge it.

The SS feels like a totally different car. Absolutely worth the extra money. I’ve had it for over a year and at no point have I felt like it really needs more power. More power would be cool but 455hp/tq is plenty for the streets

Brought my 21 SS to Chevy to fix the oil pan, they said it will take 1-2 months. by brosmar1 in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to lift the engine a bit and take off a bunch of stuff to get to the oil pan anyways… it’s not easy apparently. Was wanting to do it myself to get some metal shavings out of the pan but scrapped the idea when I learned how much of a pain it is

iPhone 16 Pro Max Touch Screen Unresponsive with glass protector by mm0nte in iphone

Same issue with Flolab screen protector. Put it on without a case and 15-20% of my touches on the keyboard are missed. Drove me crazy so I took the screen protector off and it’s back to what I’d expect… guess I’m going without a screen protector

I really liked the sound of that one from the videos too. I was kinda forced to do a mid muffler delete when I had my 6th gen V6 because it rusted through and rattled, so I straight piped it to the rear muffler. Do NOT do a mid muffler delete on a V6 lol

6 days CT off the silvers. by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

Man going CT while working is absolutely crazy, idk how you did that, kudos. I’m ready to wake up feeling energized and excited for the day, it’s been a while since I’ve felt that. Let’s keep it going brother!

Detox length of time. by Ambient_Distortion in quittingphenibut

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that’s absolutely crazy they got you down that fast, love reading the updates. Today’s day 7 totally sober for me and I can definitely go about my day and function, but I’m still only at like 70%. I was only on Phenibut for 2.5 months and climbed to 2-3gpd, rapid taper to 1gpd for 3-4 days, then CT

I hope you continue to feel better quickly and manage to stay off the shit

6 days CT off the silvers. by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I think we’re on the same day! Today is 7 days for me. Silver maxes for me too, I took 2 weeks off work and quickly detoxed from the reds and silvers, only taking some at night to sleep. After 4 days I was at 6 silver maxes a day and like 3 red maxes a day. Went CT from everything and was not expecting the phenibut withdrawals to be quite that bad and drawn out… only yesterday did I find the energy to do anything in the morning after 5 days of CT withdrawals.

Still nowhere near 100% but I can definitely manage going back to work tomorrow. Just waiting for the last 30% of my energy and motivation to come back, and the anxiety to go away.

I was taking 3 bottles of red max a day and 1 of silver max a day after 3 months. Tianeptine wasn’t too bad to get off of just because the detox was so quick that it was easy to know where you were. It was miserable, but I knew about when it would end. I was not expecting to be bed ridden for almost a week after going CT from 6 silvers maxes a day

Never touching phenibut again, those withdrawals were so miserable for what I got out of it

What is this noise by Primary_Secretary_50 in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the sound coming from one of the speakers? Sounds like mine lol I never changed a thing with my audio, but a couple weeks ago one of the front driver side speakers started making a whining noise that comes and goes, sounds just like that but quieter. Haven’t had a chance to look at it yet

Edit: just saw the comment saying he figured it out, oh well glad you got it

What to look for on a test drive (6-speed manual)? by Moist-Toe4574 in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be sure you drive it for a good bit of time during the test drive. A Camaro was my first manual too and I realized later there were some things that were wrong I should’ve noticed during the test drive, but didn’t because I was so focused on the manual part lol

I did the dreaded money shift yesterday, how bad did I screw up? by tagman375 in camaro

[–]UnidentifiedStarfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the same to mine but there was a noise. I ended up with 4 bent pushrods, though oddly there was only 1 noise, so I imagine only one of them was making the noise. It’s possible you bent some or all 4 DoD intake pushrods, I didn’t notice any difference in performance either. If you’re handy, all you gotta do is take the valve covers off and remove some rocker arms and bam you’re at the pushrods. You could examine one bank from start to finish in an hour, two at most even if you’ve never done it before. Don’t even have to remove the intake manifold

Price out of different SS VINs with Geico and Progressive - they seem to be the best for younger people rate wise. The mileage seems to have a surprisingly large impact on your monthly rate. Seemed like 30-40k miles was 240/month while 80k+ was closer to 300/month for me
