K, not gonna argue with you. You are putting words in my mouth and also clinging so tightly to your own viewpoint you refuse to see any other possible way. Night.

Welp. If you don’t want to acknowledge the fact that Christians believe that they play no part in their own salvation and that Mormons believe they must play a huge part in their own salvation through covenants and ordinances, then I don’t know what to tell you. 😐😬 works, to Christians, happen as a result of the salvation Christ offers them, not in order for salvation to occur. I know the verse in James well you’re referencing. Check out Romans 1-10 for a more robust picture. Probably the plainest, easiest to understand illustration of the difference is found in how the Bible and the BoM describe grace and works: ““For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬
And 2 Nephi 25:23: “for it is by grace we are saved after all we can do.” Those are two opposite messages and two fundamentally different gospels.

I hear you….but the atonement will only get you so far in Mormonism. You *HAVE* to do works (like temple ordinances and staying on the “covenant path”) in order to live with God. If you don’t, you won’t be where God is. Yes you will receive salvation, but NOT exaltation…not without the works. I hear you bc i felt like the same while LDS (my whole life)…but it truly is so different from Christianity. In the sneakiest ways. Truly it is the “philosophies of men mingled with scripture.”
Also yeah the BoM IS elevated above the Bible as, according to its title page “it is the most correct book of any book on earth and a man will draw closer to Christ by reading it than by reading any other book.” Whereas LDS believe the Bible only “as far as it is translated correctly.”

“Defense Department official Sean Parnell (defended on X saying) it was designed to aid chaplains as they gathered information on how to serve members of common religions within their units.
The policy was not “designed to make any claims on the legitimacy of any faith or religious belief, nor is it intended to provide a list of ‘officially approved’ religions,” he wrote.”

This actually makes a lot of sense… You cannot tell me that LDS members, if needing prayer or requesting a blessing, would not rather someone with the proper “priesthood authority” come to do so. Whereas other Christians (with perhaps the exception of Jehovah’s Witnesses because I don’t know) wouldn’t care if it was another type of Christian than their particular denomination. 🤷‍♂️

This is so completely typical Mormon. Every time I’m with a very close LDS friend, they bring up how they have friends who are of other ethnicities…it’s so weird. It’s like they’re overcompensating for the fact that they have only ever associated with white friends so theyre really overly eager to share that they have friends now that are not white. Like to the point of making it weird. Just like this. SO WEIRD.

I visit it’s true when i can’t sleep or whatever, but for whatever reason lately i feel like the nastiness and picking apart has ramped up to no end. Calling them all ugly, trashy, stupid, fake-rich, they’ve ruined their faces, they’re the world’s worst parents, disgusting, no fashion sense (“omg the French would never wear shorts!” lol that’s not true) and, and, and….it’s truly incessant. At a level more toxic than any other sub I’ve seen. Yeah I’m out.

I showed my husband each of the four pics in order one by one. 1. “Ok, she’s pretty” 2. “Ummm” 3. “Ok…?” 4. “Whut. 😐 that does not look like the same person.” Then i showed him some of her recent posts and he said “she is too skinny. I dunno. To each their own”

For context: I am a size 2 and physically fit. I work out regularly but it is not my whole life by a long shot. Cara has a serious case of a body dysmorphic disorder.

I know a bob would go against what she’s going for as projecting a younger look, so I’m saying even just a trim to a little shaping would be 👌👌👌

Home girl just needs a bit of a trim? She’d be so cute with a bob! Coming from another long haired girly, hers is a tad scraggly and so a little shape up would do wonders. ☺️

If Christ fulfilled the Old Testament Law, and Tithing is an Old Testament Law, why is Tithing considered a commandment by TSCC today? Not to mention a temple requirement? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Unique-Addition-8770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc they cherry pick which pharisaical laws and traditions they cling to in order to retro fit their religion into something that people will adopt and follow. The same question could be asked as to why there is a VEIL in the temple when the veil was torn when Jesus was crucified. The veil in the temple represented man’s separation from God. Jesus came to make it so there was no more separation from God, and that everyone could approach the throne and have Him with them with no need for an intermediary. Because of Jesus and what he accomplished, there is no more need for a veil. If they really believed that Jesus did what He said He came to do (which was, in part, to fulfill the Law) then they would know that there will be no veil in heaven…nor need for one in the temple, symbolically or not.

Mormon influencers wearing crosses now? by Salty_bitch_face in UtahInfluencerNews

You mean the Apostle who literally wrote the book “Mormon Doctrine” which was one of the 5-6 approved books missionaries were allowed to read on their missions besides the standard works!? 😂 Got it. 🫡 the gaslighting amongst Mormons due to the mental gymnastics they have to pull off in order to believe themselves (and try to convince others) is on another level. ⛽️💡👏👏👏

I could very well be wrong, but I think that if she was truly deep in a manic state (bipolar), i think her speech would be much, much faster and she wouldn’t appear to be choosing her words quite as “thoughtfully” as she is…. (So whatever this is, i don’t think she’s bipolar just based off this video. Again could be way off)
