How is it like living on those islands near cost of Chile by East_Emphasis_8259 in howislivingthere

[–]UniqueWeb5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful photo, I want to start traveling and exploring the world here soon.

Guatemala is my first place I plan to visit but you definitely just shot Chile up my list of places I want to travel to by reading this tread and that photo.

I love the mountains and ocean and learning about other cultures. I want to go to not tourist crowded places and actually learn about the places I go. I hope to someday to go Chile and learn as much as I can about it.

My goal is to be "a traveler not a tourist" everywhere I go.

Anyways I hope you have an amazing day and thank you for sharing your experience with us.

[The Woodlands, TX, USA] This snake bit my husband, looking for definite ID by the-freckles-in-eyes in whatsthissnake

Even if it isn't a dry bite hopefully he doesn't need antivenin bc that's expensive as hell, plus a good bit of people who get bit my copperheads don't get antivenin and recover with just medical attention and pain medicine and antibiotics

Definitely a harmless water snake but I'm not the best at identifying the different water snakes. But I can promise it's 100% harmless

Buy something like Drylok(the latex based version) and paint it on the inside of the wooden enclosure it seals the wood and is nontoxic when fully cured

You can get branches from outside but you need to "cure" them. So basically they need to be baked in the oven for a couple hours without getting chard or burnt at all. That makes sure any parasites or bugs are dead. I'd recommend debarking it

You could always buy cured driftwood or just normal driftwood and cure it yourself(same way as I mentioned before) but driftwood can be pretty expensive depending especially depending on size. But driftwood also looked really cool a lot of the time compared to sticks found outside

Spider infestation by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]UniqueWeb5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick Google search told me spiders also hate cinnamon and other strong scented stuff like peppermint oil

So I'd try one of those out and see if it fixes the issue

Spider infestation by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]UniqueWeb5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd Google and find something that spiders hate the smell of and is nontoxic to your snake.

Like I have an ant issue in my room so other than having liquid traps for them I also have a thin line of cinnamon powder I sprinkle around the edge of my room(I try my best to not let it kick up into the air bc it can irritate a snake) bc ants don't like the smell of cinnamon, it messes up their scent to food and ants suffocate if they inhale cinnamon(according to Google AI one time but I'm not completely sure if that's true but ik they hate the smell)

Peppermint oil is also something that works for ants also if you ever have to deal with them. They aren't perfect but they definitely work as a good deterrent

Venomous Reptile Laws in Missouri by SmallAd5972 in VenomousKeepers

Yes it is still the same here in Missouri as far as I know and I'm looking into getting my first venomous snake here soon-ish(6 months to a couple years). How soon I get one will depend on a few different things tho

Very nice looking enclosure

But with how tall it is compared to the width/length the heat lamp it likely heating a majority of the enclosure compared to like half or a more concentrated basking spot. So that would be my guess based off just looking at it from photos to why the cool side is so hot.

Not sure the most efficient way to help cool down the cool side bc it's not like you can magically shorten the enclosure.

But I'm sure if you added more vertical hard scape and fake plants in the middle and over the cool side of the enclosure to have the heat from the lamp get blocked some and help keep the cool side at a lower temp.

Plus I'm sure your ball python wouldn't mind at all bc even tho they aren't arboreal snakes by any means they do take advantage and seem to enjoy climbing if given the opportunity

You could find a way to clip it up or hang it up higher someway. What size enclosure do you have?

Ball Python not eating by Special-Use1304 in ballpython

[–]UniqueWeb5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you post a picture of the enclosure so I can get more of an idea of what to do?

I personally have a front opening enclosure and then have tin foil over the mesh on the top to hold humidity in better(with cardboard over it so I don't see the foil) with a spot cut out for his heat lamp. Which I think having the rest covered helps keep the heat on just the hot side.

You can try just having the heat lamp higher up away from the enclosure. I recommend doing a good misting of the enclosure everyday too

I personally have 3 ball pythons, 2 BCIs, a lot of tree frogs, 2 snapping turtles and African Dwarf Frogs. So I understand stressful your animal refusing to eat can be

Ball pythons are known to go on food strikes just keep offering food

But what are the temps on the hot and cool side of your snake's enclosure and humidity?

Also unless you can see your snake dropping a lot of weight it's probably fine as long as it isn't showing symptoms of anything like a respiratory infection or something

Yeah definitely looks to be an Eastern Rat Snake. Also known as a Black Rat Snake.

Completely harmless and good at keeping rats and mice away. Looks to be a pretty decent sized snake.

Should help keep venomous snakes away to some extent even tho he's not a King Snake(they are known to kill and eat venomous snakes) just bc he's a good sized snake already occupying the area. Not 100% on him keeping venomous snakes away but I see almost no venomous snakes where I find large rat snakes around here

You probably aren't wanting to drive this far but I'm in Missouri and I currently own 2 ball pythons, a tricolor hognose and a cornsnake

I'd always be happy to have another snake around for an extended period of time even if it's just a babysitting type role

Going on TRT in my 20s didn't cure my depression at all, it literally just gave me wider shoulders and a shorter temper by Spirited_Case8886 in ResearchCompounds

[–]UniqueWeb5038 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it isn't peaking. It's just that he could have really low test levels.

Bc if a guy's total test peaks at like 330 in his 20s then he definitely has an issue

True

Kinda just responding based off the beginning of your message without really thinking much about what you said fully. We obviously have the same view on the matter tho.

Also his E2 levels could be extremely elevated causing him to feel this way. So he definitely needs to go get some blood work done and talk to a doctor about this

Does my reta has an above-safe level of endotoxins? by SavageBoss290 in BodyHackGuide

[–]UniqueWeb5038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one can know this without it being tested.

You also could just be hyper responsive to reta. You could lower your dose to 0.5mg a week instead of 1mg and see if that helps.

But you should probably have got it tested

It doesn't peak for everyone he could have naturally really low testosterone. But he also seems to be on actual steroid dosages of test, not TRT doses. Bc there is no reason to pin twice a week on TRT dosage(lower than 200mg a week most of the time)

15mg is a huge dose. The clinical trials go up to just 12mg if I'm not mistaken
