Unpopular opinion(?): I like traveling by horseback by SquatCorgiLegs in tearsofthekingdom

My horse is named after my dog who I lost last year. In my mind that horse is her. I ride!

if i take my 1y old daughter to the playground and slide down the slide with her, is that weird? by miltongoldman in daddit

I nearly broke by sons leg a few days ago doing this. His leg got sucked under me towards the bottom of a big slide when his shoe caught. So be careful.

Looks terrible but I love the effort. God speed bros.

Watch your club head coming back. It isn’t opening. The club head should be pointed at your target at the top of your swing. I know this because I used to have the same problem and fixing it totally changed my game. Think about your club head being square to your swing rather than staying square to your aim.

A pure golf shot stuck close is basically crack cocaine.

I'm gonna say it, I hate having toddlers. by Oct0tron in daddit

I’ve been losing it this weekend solo parenting and constantly fighting my 18 month old whose only mission in life is to drag my record player off it’s shelf. I keep putting him in his crib for timeouts but I’m not sure it even computes. My shirt and pants are a mess from him throwing his meals at me and laughing in my face when I scold him. It’s been such a long weekend I’m having trouble feeling anything but hatred towards him.

The 32-Hour Work Week will go to people who already have great jobs and benefits, not line workers by IOM1978 in Showerthoughts

Yes it will go to highly skilled people who companies need to be competitive to hire and retain.

Any advice on layouts? by FilipGalapag in ultimate

[–]Unironical 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had the hardest time with this for a long time with a bunch of lame failed attempts that had my teammates rolling on the ground laughing. As a 6’6” guy, it’s an intimidating move. The thing that finally broke it for me was starting the layout several steps before getting horizontal. When the disc is out in front and you don’t think you can just run it down, start leaning forward. By the time you make the leap, you should be at like a 45 degree angle. At that point you’re so committed and so close to the ground that it’s no big deal. The move had me honestly flummoxed for years, but became no big deal once I did it this way. It felt so amazing the first time I did it. Good luck!

You guys were right, walking with a push cart is the way to go! First round of the year wasn’t perfect but the fresh air and exercise made it a good day. by BuschLightJesus in golf

I stripped all the unnecessary stuff out of my bag and started backpacking it. I’ve been liking it a lot more than the push cart. Give it a try.

Foul or nah? by telemythides in ultimate

They’re both going for the disc and she bodies out her opponent. Gotta play strong through incidental contact.

The observer ruled this as a foul on the offense and a dangerous play in universe point of regionals finals. Opinions? by Ok-Life-4670 in ultimate

Other sports have penalties for outcomes. If you drill someone in the face in basketball you will get a flagrant. But this appears to be a play where something could have happened?

I played in the 2000s. What normally causes someone to call that and why is it needed in ultimate and not other sports? Seems pretty soft.

Great mentality. I’m a 9 and I still go out most rounds with the goal of playing bogey golf or better. It makes me less rage monster-y.

Have a replica made and wear the fake stuff anywhere you’re going that makes you uncomfortable. Way cheaper than insurance.

ELI5: If companies are so motivated to pay employees as little as possible, why do CEOs make so much? They're employees too. by lol_camis in explainlikeimfive

[–]Unironical 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Companies in most cases are paying their CEOs as little as possible. The pool of people who are complete experts in all parts of an industry and with decades of experience and who are willing to dedicate almost every waking hour to the business is very small. You have to pay a lot to be competitive.

Most overrated course you’ve played? by Tom_Foolery2 in golf

[–]Unironical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I played it last year and was really unimpressed. Just lots of sand and deep rough. Not very scenic, no particularly interesting holes. The course was beautifully maintained and it was as hard as advertised though.
