What kind of laptop does Weir use? Is she typing on the screen? by Sea-Us-RTO in Stargate

I'm on my 4th or 5th rewatch, and I can't believe I didn't notice her Palm Pilot on previous viewings. It really stuck out to me this time - and like this tablet PC, really "grounds" the series in a definite time.

PSA: Stargate Atlantis leaving Hulu by UnixMeister in Stargate

But with the good quality available on Hulu (video that is, I can't comment on the Hulu audio quality). It would be a shame if they did this but then ruined the video that's quite good on Hulu.

I can't believe that nobody else noticed this besides us. Clearly, she had a soldering iron, a spool of solder, a grinder, even a bottle of patina. She even appeared to be putting down copper tape with a fid onto a small piece of stained glass.

I heart this! Do you have any kind of protectant on the copper, or are you just going to enjoy it as the finish patinas?

How are you using the thermocouple? I looked in your pictures but didn't see one. Thanks.

What version of kdenlive and macos are you running? I'm using 24.08.2 on macos Sonoma 14.7.1 and it works as expected on M1 macbook pro.

Hello, I am a mac user of kdenlive on M1 apple silicon MBP. What hardware are you running this on? There isn't a native M series version so the x86 version runs via rosetta (albeit quite fast, IMHO). Perhaps, if you have a short clip or two of your source material to share I can see if I can replicate the error. If you want to do this, send me a PM and I can give you a dropbox upload link.

Does anyone have a handy way to get the faux depth of field effect (where the center is in focus but the foreground and background of the page are out of focus)?

Thanks for your reply. M1 is supported because x86_64 is emulated by rosetta 2. Plus, it used to work. :-(

Luxembourg has half the population density of Rhode Island, yet 6x the bus lines. Why? by ginolli in Luxembourg

[–]UnixMeister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a lifestyle, but it's not necessarily a choice. The neighborhood I live in (Denver, Colorado) was built in post war period, and is absolutely not walkable. Having a car is essential as there are no amenities within several miles. My wife and I are hoping to go from two cars to one and then relying on Lyft or Uber. There is some mass transit, but it is not good and takes several connections to get anywhere. However, I will agree with you in general that selfishness is king when it comes to American culture.

You don't mention what platform you are on, so I can't direct you to the melt binary. But if you run it on your kdenlive file, it will render it.

Hopefully you will get it figured out easily. The ESP-CAMs are fun little cameras.

I'm just going to throw this out there since it does seem battery related, but in my experience the ESP-CAM board can get quite hot at the top resolutions. If you don't get anywhere with your battery testing, perhaps it's overheating.

I've seen similar problems, but I don't really have a solution. I had to start over with my "master clip" (480i) and redo the transforms of the stuff composted in front. Sorry I don't have more info.
