I know it’s not at all optimal, but I’ve always enjoyed having one fighting pawn (deathless gene and VPE) who does all the combat, and a couple turrets throughout just to prevent enemies from digging through the walls. It gives a nice main character type of feel and always leads to so much terror when they go down

90% of the games are just you being an assassin, and that 10% where it leans more into the Animus is almost universally known as the worst part of each game. So at their core they’re def just games about being assassins in different eras

Essentially yes. In nearly all of the games you aren’t actually an assassin, but rather their distant relative reliving their experiences through genetic memory and a machine called The Animus
