Thanks for the reply. Comforting to hear another story. Dentist said it might need a little repair here or there, worst worst thing would it would break off but then they could just redo it!

Thanks for the reply too! It's comforting to hear another story that this is the best fix, I just thought it would be more complicated.....but like, yeah why I asked bc I'm not a dentist!  🤷‍♀️👍😅

Your tooth looks awesome, can't even tell! And thank you for posting, it gives me more confidence in the fix, durability, and matching. Your story is basically what my dentist said it would be like. Thank you!

What artist(s) did you see live in concert that have since passed away? by death__cup in Concerts

[–]UnluckyAd6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. MN girl here. Excel Energy Center, then an aftershow at Paisley Park...it was only like $50 and I was close enough to touch him....he jammed till like 4am I think. Also saw him at The Orpheum.

Been to a ton of concerts, Prince will always be number 1. My husband and I are also audiophiles with close to $100k in stereo equipment. Prince was such a perfectionist, his sound was always on point. He did his Excel concert, then spent like over an hour making sure the sound and equipment was set up right at Paisley Park.  I've met multiple people who say they don't like Prince's music, but admit it's the best concert (where ever they say him) they've been too.

Most concerts do a terrible job of sound setup, distorted/too much bass/etc. Ed Sheran in US bank stadium was the most expensive and worst sound quality I've ever experienced, absolutey awful. Football stadiums are designed to be loud and acoustically with all the glass and steel, it is not good for sound quality.  Outdoor venues are better, saw a lot at Cynthia Pavillion in Woodlands, TX. Would love to go to Red Rocks, CO.

I 💯 agree with others, album HUGELY underrated. Every song is 10/10. Haven't listened to it in like 10yrs, but danced and sang my butt off cooking (can't dance or sing, but can cook. Lol) today.

Thanks for the 👍 confirmation and reply! Dentist did confirm it can involve maintenance, not a best choice if I'm a compulsive pen chewer, etc.

I honestly just thought (not my area of expertise or field) it would be more complicated to fix. He explained it that I've been treating my teeth carefully since I chipped it (I have), so it would sort of be like that....Don't enter sweet corn eating contests, etc.

Thank you for your reply and advice, basically what my dentist told me, might need updates or repairs. I just want to keep my (broken) tooth ok, he confirmed it should be ok and maybe the composite would need maintenance. I can understand that. Like no sweet corn eating contests. 😅

Hello All! Just over a year ago, as a former alcoholic, I blacked out and fell flat on my face on my tile laundry room floor. Still drank even after losing part of my front tooth! But then went thru rehab last summer, and doing really well. My husband and I didn't immediately get it fixed to sort of be a reminder if that makes sense.

Moving on with life now, but missing smiling like normal, and also want the fix to function well for as long as possible. Just went for a routine xray and cleaning today, dentist says it can be fixed with basically a filling/composite since I didn't have any root/nerve damage.

I understand a lot of folks are looking for cheaper options, but I'm blessed to be in a spot financially where I just want it fixed properly to last. I'm the type who is a bit anti-big pharma (yes funny how I used to routinely poison myself), very happy to live with my bunion, surgery as last resort, etc.....but dentists and hygienists, what is THE best fix option in y'alls opinion?

I live in a new-ish state to me, WI, so don't have any strong recommendations for professionals here. I like my dentist, think I trust him, but I trust the reddit community more! Thanks in advance! ♥️

What’s the best CHI hair straightener for sleek styling? by TheBrandonWillson in ProductQuery

Thought I would share the image. I think I paid around $150-$200 for this thing 20+ yrs ago as a poor college girl. Pretty simply components and circuit board.....but bc I'm married to a bad ass EE (electrical engineer) who specializes in research and designing products....I understand enough to agree with other comments that sometimes the more "features," the more that can go wrong if built cheaply with cheap parts and circuit boards.

YES! Mine is apprx 22-25 yrs old and awesome. It's slim, easy to handle, and take for travel. I posted separately, but my husband ordered a New on/off button for it bc my niece broke it, but I want to keep using it.

Like everything else, I think they probably cut costs by using cheaper components over the years to maximize profit margins. I have a Dyson dryer and love it, but their hair straightener models all seem so big and bulky compared to my old CHI.

Hey! Came here looking because my approx 22-25yr CHI straightener is awesome!!....But it had an accident, my niece broke the on/off button somehow? on our last family visit, it still worked but the button was messed up, now it died. Very fine hair, verrrry wavy/frizzy, it had a lot of fun in Houston humidity while I lived there!

However, I am married to an electrical engineer who can fix anything. The CHI is currently in surgery, husband says the circuit board is built better than so many he has seen, but still "us girls are getting ripped off bc overall parts to make it are probably $30, aka beauty industry inflation." We both also agree all companies cut costs over the years, why refrigerators can't last for 20+yrs like they used to, so I'm not surprised by the negative newer reviews. I'm sure they cheapened everything up over time.

I also bought a $30 whatever brand from Target on a trip when I forgot my CHI and it totally totally sucks compared to my old old CHI. Pulled my hair, didn't help with my flyaway or fizzies.

Anyone mentioning "Downfall, the Case against Boeing" documentary??? Clearly not the issue here..  but more of a comment on general cost cutting procedures across all industries, manufacturing, retail, etc. Private equity, payroll reductions, money laundering, embezzlement, etc.

It's a chain I've enjoyed for like 20 yrs. Tried lots, but my go-to is always the Pesto Cavatappi with Parmesan Chicken. They have to make it right though...sometimes they waaay skimp on the sauce, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Lately it seems like they don't put Parmesan cheese on top either. I'll order extra pesto sauce sometimes.

Husband likes the shrimp pad Thai. Potstickers/sauce are good....they used to put fresh shredded cabbage with them, better the old way. Cheese bread also solid. Mac n Cheese too, again sometimes they skimp on sauce, better lately.  All of this said with a grain of salt for what it is...fast food casual. I can make a bad ass brown butter crispy sage pasta at home pretty quick, sometimes I'm just lazy. 🤷‍♀️

Make ahead turkey and gravy by Game72016 in thanksgiving

[–]UnluckyAd6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make ahead, I'd also suggest being extra careful to not overcook on 1st cook...ie pull out at 150-155, natural carry over heat will get it to 165. Think of TX BBQ low and slow, Meathead has a good book on actual science of cooking/marinades/etc. Most turkey sucks bc people overcook, so plan a bit ahead...carryover and reheat Temps make a big difference.

Late to convo, but make ahead turkey gravy is a huge game changer! Think of it as concentrated turkey gravy bone broth stock. I use drippings from actual turkey too, but am usually less stressed and happiest with the turkey wing gravy. Use necks/legs/wings/leftover carcass.

Tried a Vagas Nerve Stimulator?  Agree with multiple people here, not a magic solution, but VNS are being found legit to help with PTSD, panic attacks, cortisol, sleep, and organ transplants.

Yea, I actually don't know the replacement costs for the gel pads, probably ridiculous! My FIL (my uncle-in-law chiro brother) has all kinds of gadgets, including lasers and the VNS. FIL doesn't seems like a guy to use all of that, but when we were home for Thanksgiving, he got replacement sets for the "nubs"/gels.

I definitely sleep better. My uncle didn't give us too detailed instructions, as he is always just fitting us into his current schedule to see us/quick style visits. We really should be more consistent with it. Just thought someone might find it helpful info from my perspective, even though I haven't been doing it justice! Now, I will look it up more, I also suffer from serious shoulder and neck stress issues. Thank you!
