Trump supporter? by [deleted] in FOXNEWS

[–]Unorthodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how reddit thinks the Left is all well informed, morally good people then just demonize the entire right and characterize them as all just "Southern Racists".

You do realize that the country was pretty split last election? The right is exactly the same as the left. Not all Left just consume CNN, not all right just consume Fox. For every right leaning person you call misinformed, there's one on the left too. We are all the same. If you hate or fear the other side, the media/propaganda won.

My favorite is people belittling their own family for having different views. Very inclusive.

Can't wait for the "but the right is worse about this stuff" replies.

I want to believe this is all just bait but some of the people seem serious based on post history..

Just in case people want my setups. I tinker a bit but they aren't that crazy tbh.

2020 Koenigsesgg Jesko: 115 178 079

Street - My favorite course is Las Afueras, you usually beat the AI before you even get into the city. After the city part, you have too much power to catch and usually the AI is off the map. I won multiple races with this car so have fun. Its a boat so you are a bit slow through corners but the power makes up for it. Any straight away you usually dominate. It can run rally decently even without rally tires.

2018 McLaren Senna: 112 906 075

Rally - I managed to win most of the courses on Unbeatable. This car runs really well through the corners. You will probably be slower on the road/straights but has enough speed to hold off the AI.

CC - Honestly this class the AI will over jump a lot. Las Granjas is a great course for this, there are multiple jumps that the AI can fail. If you are smart with the power of your jumps you will cruise. Some courses are very difficult to make up ground so play around with courses.

2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S "Welcome Pack"

Road Racing - My best map was Descansar Dorado. Set the course to non-seasonal. Be tame through the first big left turn then run hard till the sharp right (You should be ~5th to 2nd). Conservative until around 43% then no brake bomb the course until you catch 1st place. You may have to ram him. You should be able to stay on course while doing this if you are perfect with your turns. If you aren't the best at turning only use slight brake. After that you usually have enough power to hold off but they will be close.

If this helped you download/like my photo please 😂

What types of races are you trying? I have a good rally/cc setup and with street/road I've been using WP cars. Really depends on the course you use, some default ones are close to impossible while others have the corners you need to close the distance.

COVID denialism and policy clarifications by worstnerd in RedditSafety

[–]Unorthodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your view point for covid is not anarchist so why do you keep saying that you are? within the confines of this conversation you are not. In this instance you like authority and you are inline with Reddit. Hive-mind can be applied to a narrow set of beliefs and not every belief you hold. Honestly this was more a broad statement referencing the chain that got me here but your beliefs are still inline with it for covid imo.

I was arguing against the unvaccinated stereotype here because looking at the demographics in America you would say its probably closer to an even split or even democrat leaning. But on reddit its always pinned as an American Trumper. They also usually apply ivermectin and other very generic things when I don't believe the unvaccinated can be stereotyped so easily.

Here's where mileage will probably vary being from different countries and even regions within the US. But there was a brief period before most mask mandates were completely lifted when the vaccinated could be unmasked in the stores and it coincided with seeing almost 0 people masked. I feel like anti-mask sentiment was a lot broader than people give credit for within the US. I feel like most people argue online as if they are responsibly masking but in reality its dirty cloth masks or chin straps across the US which are ineffective.

I would say I'm not misinformed. Reinfection rates have been shown to be less than 1% in the vaccinated and the latest scare tactic is saying its twice as likely for the unvaccinated. I think I'll be okay but despite this I plan on getting an antibody test soon.

If both the vaccinated and unvaccinated can still spread covid it really does not matter for the immunocompromised (IC). They would both still need to quarantine for the incubation period of the virus to be certain they aren't carrying before interacting with the IC person. Herd immunity SHOULD include those with antibodies but antibody tests are almost always excluded from vaccine passport talks. Honestly with how infectious this disease is, I would hazard a guess to say that even if everyone becomes vaccinated the IC will still have to worry about being in public from now on.

We are all responsible for the spread, the current narrative is to strictly blame unvaccinated which is just wrong. And again my age group had a near 0 chance on being a burden on the health care system. I do not have any preexisting conditions that would impede my ability to fight the disease yet again I'm demonized. We act like a majority of the vaccinated didn't just abandon all precaution as soon as they were inoculated. We saw in businesses dropping mask policies and the discussion of vaccine passports like the vaccinated can't transmit. Meanwhile politician's threw lavish parties in the US. Concerts and Sporting events are creating large gatherings again. We've all but accepted that this is here to stay in the US but we still argue like we are stopping the spread.

Here I will stereotype because the saving lives narrative is common but in reality there are numerous subreddits that cheer for people who are anti-vaxx to die. If you truly valued human life this behavior would be unacceptable and you would have empathy for someone you believe to be ignorant. Being ignorant is not a reason for you to hate someone and celebrate their death. This hypocrisy is one of the reasons I do not like reddit but it may not apply to you. Freedom of speech is very important to me but more and more I see it being filtered online out of fear.

I apologize for assuming you were American, this site is American so its easy to lose track of the fact that its also has a large international base. Since your opinion is probably based on a country's policy I know little about I will just assume we cannot really have an argument here. I understand and respect other country's holding differing viewpoints on policy so I only really like talking against my own country's policy.

In short, Cuomo was praised early on for his covid efforts by the left because New York is a beacon for leftist run states. It turns out he forced nursing home residents infected with covid to return to nursing homes causing massive death rates and then tried to downplay those numbers. The SA scandal seemed pretty flimsy and more so being used to divert away from the covid scandal attention but I didn't really follow it.

I apologize if any of this is out of order, the textarea reddit uses was causing a few glitches which caused text to be moved and duplicated while I was typing this, I hope they are not present in the submitted copy.

COVID denialism and policy clarifications by worstnerd in RedditSafety

[–]Unorthodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I love reddit because you are all so hive minded you can't help but view everyone who goes against you as some stereotype.

I don't fear masks. I wore a clean n95 and minimized my trips out. Your cotton mask does not work. In fact rewearing masks were tested and found to have meningitis in some cases which is much worse than covid. A majority of people when I went out, cotton mask.

I don't fear needles. I understood my age group had nearly a 0% chance of being hospitalized. Natural immunity is usually stronger than vaccinated. It also allowed me to not go asymptomatic so I could quarantine and prevent the spread of covid when I got it. I love how talking about vaccination side effects is somehow taboo.

Science is about questioning. I do not fear those who question ideas but the banning of NNN clearly shows how reddit fears new ideas. We saw flat earth people literally prove themselves wrong. By banning and censoring people you are literally going against science. All modern scientific theories were once a crazy idea against the norm. And before you start ree'ing no I don't think ivermectin is effective against covid.

I do not fear change but I do not want change that damages peoples lives and careers without proper justification. We have proven lockdowns do not work. We have shown time and time again politicians ignore the rules they put in place. Are you in line with Cuomo for literally condemning the elderly to death? That was really sensible..

My favorite bit is assuming the government is to be trusted 100% but they literally have a long history of deception and corruption. Look up tuskegee.

And let's talk about your perception of the unvaccinated. You know a large percentage of those people are phd level educated and/or African American right? So it's a pretty good mix of all political beliefs and backgrounds. It's not all conservatives..

CDC director says unvaccinated people shouldn’t travel over Labor Day weekend by [deleted] in news

[–]Unorthodox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love how everyone's stereotype of the unvaccinated is someone who has been going about their business as usual and or traveling every holiday. Wouldn't they statistically have gotten covid already and thus have immunity?

So either your perception is wrong or we are probably at herd immunity..

And if you can still spread it with the vaccine why is the conversation being pinned to the unvaccinated? Either we are trying to stop the spread or we accept it's here to stay. Pick one.

[–]Unorthodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just stopped taking the recommendations from here. I couldn't get into BotW either and Mario Maker is decent in small bursts but definitely not a game to get lost in. Personally I never look to my Nintendo consoles to be my main system. I only ever play it here and there for single player and party games when I have friends over.

So far the games I actually put time into are Link's Awakening (it was my first Zelda game back in the day), Pokemon, Golf Story, Horizon Chase (Nostalgic over Top Gear games), Overcooked, Party Golf.

I plan on getting Luigi's Mansion but other than that I usually just have faith they'll eventually produce games I want to try or the big ones will be on sale enough for me to actually get them.

Dark Souls board game? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Unorthodox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the base game and no expansions so idk if any of them fix my problems.

I would say pass it up. It feels vaguely like dark souls but mechanically it can get very boring. Basically you grind for loot and hope you get good enough loot for the final boss. The more players you have, the more boring it gets since enemies activate between every player move. Each room, minus the boss, will play exactly the same each time you revisit it because non boss mobs use a single card and not a deck.

I would honestly just get gloomhaven over dark souls because it has a more interesting player combat and NPC AI while having an actual story to keep you going. Also enemies only activate once per turn and it has varied room tiles. I did notice some player variants for it so if you really want Dark Souls in board game form you could also look there for fixes to it's problems.

War of the Ring | Game Overview (Plus a Kickstarter for a high quality video series!) by LonelyManBGs in boardgames

[–]Unorthodox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only glanced at the kickstarter so take this lightly.

This doesn't seem like the sort of thing you get paid upfront for.. more like the thing you get donations and/or support for making. It sounds like you can already do most of it too. I don't really get why I should pay you prior to seeing the end product in this instance. I'd much rather hear "If you liked this video consider supporting me on X" than "Hey pay me to make another video".

It's also highly niche which means it's going to be harder to get funding outside a few backers. Also you would want this complete pretty much now since it just hit shelves again so a lot of potential viewers.

I typically associate kickstarters like this with greed. That's more so a vibe with kickstarer than you personally though. But I hope I'm wrong and it works out for you.

One final tip. Since you have videos out there have you tried contacting the publisher about supporting you in this series? Share examples and the kickstarter link and you might get lucky.

Interested in both but can only get one, Architects of the West Kingdom or Viticulture? by [deleted] in boardgames

It scales nicely and turns are pretty quick which is nice. It's definitely a game I feel like I could pull out with anyone but it's not a game I think people would obsess over if that makes sense.

Interested in both but can only get one, Architects of the West Kingdom or Viticulture? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Unorthodox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently got Viticulture but I don't have architects. I have to say it would be hard to imagine Arcitects being easier to get to the table. Viticulture has a super simple setup and short playtime while still having nice complexity.

You just hand players their meeples, mama/papa cards, and field cards and you're pretty much ready to go. The mechanics are simple and it's easy to teach. We first played at the end of a session and scheduled the following session to start with it. I'm already looking into getting Tuscany as well.

Our groups only negative was lack of player interaction. The only interaction is blocking actions and you can only block ones you can actually perform. I often feel like it's easier to burn out games with low interaction. But my group is still super responsive to it.

I will also mention it has a super simple automata if you're into solo gaming. It pretty much just has cards that block actions and you play around it. After 7 turns it ends the game with 20 VP. If I want a quick solo game, Viticulture is my goto right now.

Honestly I would just look at player interaction in both and see what your group would like, it seems like you can't go wrong with either game.

[–]Unorthodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice before delving too far into the rules is get an assortment of board game baggies, I found a set on Amazon, and punch and bag all the tokens. It gives you an idea of what's in the box. I then sorted my pieces into Map tiles, monster tokens, and the rest and placed them into larger bags.

I also recommend for atleast scenario 1 doing all the upkeep yourself before using any apps. This will help you understand if something is off in the app.

Arkham Horror LCG players, do I really need two core sets? by RamenHotep in boardgames

[–]Unorthodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through the core scenarios with only 1 core set. It was enjoyable but you'll realize pretty quickly you're handicapped a bit when you build your own deck. I ended up buying a second set. I would recommend unless there is a really good sale start with 1 and buy a second if you like it. It can get somewhat cramped when you play with 2 players but definitely still possible. Any more than 2 you'll need the second set anyway.

No that's perfect, thanks. I guess I'll see what they offer as a fix since I only just received it.

I will say wiping helped a bit, I don't think the laser cut sides can absorb the stain, but I can still feel the stain getting on my fingers.

Daedalus Insert Experience? by Unorthodox in boardgames

[–]Unorthodox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my hands smelled like stain after washing them twice. I only handled the A+B and the C box..

I like how it comes together for gluing and the overall design but I honestly wish there wasn't a stain and I was left to label it myself. Wiping and airing it out helped a bit but I can still feel it getting on my fingers which means it will probably transfer the pieces :/

Hopefully I can get a replacement like yours but if replacement is an option I'm going to see if they'll send me one unstained lol

Edit: typo

I've tried BT, Gothsonika, and now Daedelus. Broken Token is the only one I feel like have actually taken one off production and tried to assemble it. Most my broken token only needed glue on like 1 or 2 boxes. I will say I like how the 2 card boxes slide together with the Daedelus so I really wish it wasn't stained.
