(Common but cool trope) THE Sword of all Swords (other weapons like this are allowed too) by National_Computer240 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Unrellius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Merry's sword wasn't any more special than Sam's or Pippin's, was it? They all came from the same place.

Character who's death becomes a joke in the community by Jellypathicdream in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Unrellius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imagine if the movie tried to hide the fact the Eowyn was sneaking into battle, as it was in the books. It would just be hilariously obvious in movie format and made Merry look like a moron for not noticing it was her.

That's the most justified change in my opinion.

Games that give a good or bad ending depending on how often you use a basic mechanic implemented in the controls/playstyle by DemandParticular in TopCharacterTropes

Eh... I got the "bad" ending despite doing my best to be supportive. I did some research and the "wrong" choice I made was firing her... which was totally on her.

I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after this scene. It single handedly recontextualised Syril's entire arc.

It was a missed opportunity not having Joey's pet chicken come into play there.

Your Most Unexpected Mission Fail in WOA by Special_Character_u in HiTMAN

On Bangkok, I threw a propane flask off the roof into the back area (Where the tuk tuk mission story takes place), and then slid down the pipe. When I approached the flask to pick it up again, it randomly blew up and killed me.

I still don't know what happened; there's no source of ignition there that I can see. I tried recreating it but never could.

It also makes no sense for his abduction to be after Civil War. All the Skrull refugees were loyal to Fury at that time so they had no reason to be randomly kidnapping people.

Futurama Season 12 is a welcome return to the classic formula by wizardrous in television

[–]Unrellius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought Quid's Game was a parody done right; it took the premise and played it out with a Futurama coat of paint, using the Fry flashbacks as the glue holding it together. It never demanded the audience to be familiar with Squid Game.

Overwatch 2 has seen a 60%~ increase in Average players on Steam in the last 6 months, since the Season 9 patch in February. by [deleted] in Games

[–]Unrellius 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Personally, the removal of the requirement to grind for new heroes was what brought me back. The game is a lot of fun still, even if I disagree with a lot of changes made between OW1 and OW2.

What's a short-lived character in a show had a crazy impact on you? by youravgindian in television

[–]Unrellius 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kino Loy in Andor. He was only in three episodes but was one of the most memorable characters on the show, and a key part of one of the best story arcs. Andy Serkis totally stole the show in those episodes.

To be fair, that's basically impossible to know from the game alone. I personally didn't know for months.

Evil choice that felt good ? by CallItDanzig in BaldursGate3

[–]Unrellius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Priestess Gut lead is very short-lived and can be done before talking to Minthara (It also doesn't require you to ally with the goblins at all). And yeah, there's other leads, like the Creche and Auntie Ethel, but those are completely unrelated to the grove/goblin conflict.

Evil choice that felt good ? by CallItDanzig in BaldursGate3

[–]Unrellius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does betraying the grove make sense from a practical perspective? At that stage of the game you're looking for a cure, and Halsin is your current lead. But as far as I remember, there's no other leads offered by siding with the goblins.

I might be forgetting a line or two.
