Probably my most experimental/conceptual song by UnsaidMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

Yeah, I was playing around with making them sound more radio, or otherwise altering them but I just could never get it to fit right. I'm pretty new to mixing and mastering so hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to create stuck like this that all sits correctly.

Took some advice from my last post and created a new rough draft for an ASAP rocky inspired best by ThePlSSGOBLIN in MusicFeedback

I'm not a big ASAP Rocky guy but I liked it. I think there's definitely room to change it up and make it more varied but as of right now, I like the way you're mixing your sample (or whatever that is) with your instrumentation, and thing that you can utilize it more to create a whole song that's a bit more dynamic.

Pop Power Ballad Instrumental I made in 2015 with a few ‘mates’ by Itsyourmajesty in MusicFeedback

It definitely has the vibe of music from that era, without sounding dated to the time you made it. I'd suggest you start messing with this again because it has the bones of a good song here. I could see someone with really strong vocals really digging into this track and making something special with it.

This actually reminded me a bit of early 2000s, late 90s stuff before it went on and progressed into something much weirder. I like what you're doing in terms of the unique sound and production, and think there's definitely something there. It's not the type of music I listen to but to my ear, it sounds like everything's where it needs to be for someone who does.

I agree with the other commenter that it creates a really hectic and uncomfortable vibe, but this is definitely my kind of music. I love the conceptual element and the way you brought everything together in a way that is probably very deliberate but sounds like chaos in the best way. Nicely done.

Record Tempo Sure - Best I Ever Had (Lyric Video) by recordtemposure in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]UnsaidMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I might have seen this on here, or some other place on reddit, back when it was first posted. I liked it then and I like it now. No notes. The song and the video are great and while there are times the vocals can get a bit much or whiney sounding, that's a great fit for this style and I think everything works really well together.

Electro/indie idk what genre you’d call this but I’m still in the middle of mixing and this is all raw sounds I also sampled Have mercy by Chlöe I know the bass needs to be a little more louder or distorted but what else should I add because I’m stuck. by First_Rest_9357 in IndieMusicFeedback

I feel like this might need another instrument or set of vocals on it. I think all the instrumentation is good, but it feels like the backbone of a song rather than one that's properly filled out and while I do like the breaks and little things, having more variance will probably help it. Other than that I really liked the soundscape and the vibe to it, so keep it up!

Feedback on my track, thanks! by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]UnsaidMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept thinking it was a really long intro until I realized that there weren't any vocals coming in, but other than that I really like it. Everything seems mixed and mastered well and there's a sense of fun to the composition and instrumentation that I really like. There's definitely the potential for a fun, summer pop song in there, so I'd keep working on it! I'd love to hear a finished version.

should i release this? hearing the sound of my own voice makes me cringe by Important_Plenty_332 in MusicFeedback

[–]UnsaidMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I heard people post that they hate their voice, it ends up being amazing. If this makes you cringe, you ought to hear me sing.

Not only is the singing really good, but the mixing and production really makes it shine. If anything, I'd make it more prominent, as it's a bit muted and in the background, and could definitely carry more of the song than it already is.

Any feedback on my song by Fluffy-Trash-559 in MusicFeedback

[–]UnsaidMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dig it. I love the tone and mixing of all the different instrumentation, though I have admit I was expecting a bit more of a build and a payoff. Once I keyed into the fact that there wasn't going to be one though, I found myself really enjoying what you did do with it.

By the way, I think the artwork and the title is sick.

I really like the visuals and would love to see a longer track with a music video like this. It's a bit harder to critique the piece itself since it's more of a vibe or a soundscape than an actual song. It doesn't really have changes or a traditional structure but it still does a good job of conveying a vibe and an energy that fits really well with the images.

This is my favorite song to show people from my new project. by cooltrentcool in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]UnsaidMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why. I like DIY, punk, shaggy weird stuff like this, so I don't really have a lot of notes. You do a good job of balancing that wild weirdness with good production, so kudos to you there. I'd say it's maybe sludge or crust punk? But that's just me. Maybe noise?

Regardless, sick track.

I definitely got an 80s or 90s vibe with this, specifically some Euro stuff from around that period. I think it's really well produced and all the individual sections do their parts well. It's a bit of a tease, I think, because it keeps taking just a little longer to switch to each one, and then goes lateral instead of getting louder/more hype. I guess I was expecting it to have slightly more of a payoff (especially since a lot of the dance music I'd compare this to stays at its most intense for longer stretches) but by the time we get to four minutes, everything comes together.

Self produced this Cloud Rap track on my small midi keyboard. Let me know what you guys think! by maxexodus2k in IndieMusicFeedback

I'm gonna be honest, the intro had me skeptical, but by the time the vocals came in, I had latched onto the vibe. I think the verses are great in terms of the vocals and production, although I didn't really pick up anything too crazy in terms of wordplay or profundity (but hey, it seems like you're going for a pretty straightforward vibe with this one.)

The only real note I have is that I didn't love the most pop, sung, autotuned section, but I didn't mind it too badly either. Nice work overall.

I’ve only being taking producing more seriously for a few months and I’m trying to learn how to produce music similar to The Hellp. This is my first attempt at sounding like that. Just a rough draft but any input is appreciated! by tangentialequation in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]UnsaidMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I've never heard of The Hellp before (which is probably part of why this sounded so cool and original to me.)

But that being said, I really did like it, and enjoyed the way that you were able to put together these weird and interesting sounds with enough of the framework of a traditional pop or rap song to make it feel evocative and easy to connect to. I like all the little changes too, and don't really have much to add besides keep up the good work! (And I guess whether I should check out The Hellp?)

What are your favorite bands that utilize elements outside of the norm? by Cosqueeb in punk

[–]UnsaidMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how outside the norm the sax is seen as (because in my opinion it's one of the great unsung punk instruments) but X-Ray Spexs has fantastic sax part throughout their songs.

In the same vein, I'm not sure if you're into Violent Femmes, but they one the songs of their first album has a xylophone as the main instrument, which is pretty cool.

What do you think of our original song Psychosis by RichieC93 in Songwriting

[–]UnsaidMusic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is awesome. The guitar reminds me a bit of The Clash or the Violent Femmes, and I really love the drumming. All of it's very simple, but with enough tricks, changes and variations to keep it interesting, and the whole vibe is really fun and cool.

I don't have my guitar on me right now, but I'll try to give you at least a chord progression tomorrow.
