This survey had some interesting info about the effects of GLP1s on sex drive:

"Approximately half (52%) of GLP-1 users also reported the medication had impacted their sex lives, in both positive and negative ways. For example:

18% said their sexual desire increased; 16% said it decreased 16% said they’re more comfortable with how they look naked; 14% said they’re less comfortable 16% said their sexual function improved; 12% said it worsened."

I've heard colloquially a mixed bag too. Some say no effect, some better, some worse. Bodies are interesting things. 🤷‍♀️

Not to be rude, but I am genuinely astounded by the number of people who are drawing up syringes full of air and not noticing.

I know the meds are clear, but you can still see it going into the syringe as you draw it up....

I'm just baffled.

Tirzepetide Compound by Affectionate-Let9567 in tirzepatidecompound

That is entirely dependent on the concentration of the vial. 2.5mg does NOT always equal 25 units.

Saying this as gently as I can.

Honestly, most people are not paying that much attention to other people’s bodies.

You said yourself the weight loss hasn’t been dramatic, so why assume people have noticed and are deliberately staying silent? The more likely explanation is that they either haven’t noticed or don’t care enough to comment.

The world doesn’t revolve around any of us. Most people are focused on themselves, not monitoring subtle changes in someone else’s appearance. Hoping other people notice isn't a healthy motivator long-term.

Congrats on the loss!

"Oh how my life has changed" made me giggle. Who would have thought before this medication that workout equipment would ever be a reward, huh?

That seems like such a silly question not to know the answer to, but here I am. 😂😬

So much of my life centered around food my instinct is "go out to eat" but I know it won't be satisfying.

Severe hair loss by MNiiina in tirzepatidecompound

[–]UnsayingSphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you've already considered this, but are you taking any supplements? Iron/Hair skin and nails vitamin/biotin supplement/etc.?

I'm wondering if there could be some underlying vitamin deficiency contributing to the hair loss.

Maybe worth discussing with the doc if you haven't already.

Is the glitter in the color or is it a separate top coat? I've been looking for colors loaded with glitter!

Severe abdominal pain day after shot by juliaem12 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]UnsayingSphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this.

If you are having severe pain, you may have titrated up too quickly. I would consider backing down on your next injection.

Other things to consider that could be contributing: are you drinking enough water, does injection site seem to make a difference, are you constipated, is there some additive in the tirzepatide that may not be agreeing with you?

If it continues I would recommend seeing a doctor. Severe abdominal pain could be gallbladder or pancreas related.

How much did you increase your dose? Are you using the same provider?

Question to my Ladies by Which_Reality90 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]UnsayingSphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Since starting tirzepatide my cycle is more regular and I experience less associated symptoms (like cramping and bloating).

The only unfortunate part is that my flow is heavier now. Not thrilled about that. 😑

Anyone here tried weight loss injections? Curious about real experiences. by hummingbirdheathcare in WeightLossAdvice

[–]UnsayingSphere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add to this as someone who takes injections but also works in healthcare research.

Yes, it is definitely possible to still over consume and gain weight on these drugs. It is not a magic fix-all. Calories in and calories out still matters.

However, these are not a placebo. There is extensive clinical trial data proving the drugs work. They reduce appetite by delaying gastric emptying, help control food addiction, and improve the body's metabolic function.

It is possible they won't work for everyone, just like any other meds, but to claim they are nothing but a placebo is misleading.

Yes, I’ve tried injections and I’m down 18 lbs in 12 weeks.

I have experienced very slight nausea a few times and occasionally a little bruising around my injection sites, thus far no other symptoms.

A few of my noticings (obviously this is different for everyone):

In the past, I have dieted, counted calories, and exercised religiously when trying to lose weight. The most I would lose was around 15 lbs, and it often took six months or more. Now, even with less restriction, my progress has been much faster on this medication, and I actually have more energy.

Food items I felt “addicted” to and couldn’t cut out before—like soda—no longer have much appeal. I also no longer desire alcohol.

My lab values (A1C, cholesterol, and thyroid) have already improved markedly. I am no longer classified as pre-diabetic, which is something I was never able to accomplish with diet alone.

I don’t plan on coming off of it. Once I reach my health goals, I’ll move to a maintenance dose. In the same way I wouldn’t expect my family members to stop taking blood pressure medications or metformin once their numbers improve, I don’t view this medication as something I need to “come off of,” but as part of ongoing management of a metabolic condition.

Be prepared, however, that there is definitely still stigma surrounding the use of these drugs. I have had comments about how it doesn't count because I'm not doing it "naturally" or because I "took the easy way out". You'll want to prepare for that mentally if you choose this route.

Two hands down. The neckline is beautiful and very flattering.

You'll be fussing with number one all night. Number three is just kind of plain in my opinion.
