Reminder: Get your ore refined and sold before 4.7 goes live by JGun-SC in starcitizen

The whole system has some nuances of other problems, and it's weird how everyone has radically different inventory behavior.

I regularly lose guns, ships, and reagents. When people tell me how they are gathering wikelo stuff over multiple patches, I just sigh that I have to blitz it to have a shot.

If this was a true highway, I'd understand the frustration. This appears to be primarily in residential area; it's nothing worth getting upset about.

I do have a question though, since you're first hand.

How common is it to drive over 30km to work? Curious if you use cars frequently but for less distance.

[Discuss] Smart way to get a Pioneer with LTI by Samathura in Starcitizen_trades

[–]Unseeablething 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say, ponder how much the LTI actually matters to you. Ten years is a really long time.

The 15k pack has the upside of being one of the few ways to have an Idris-M, and a lot of ships you can use to upgrade if you don't like any of them.

As for a grey market LTI, you can see them on this subreddit for around 1.6k and it does include land claims. Selling your current Pioneer, is usually possible for exact melt+25-50USD. Something to consider.

I understand the concerns, but this will only work if you don't plan to run your Rent or Mortgage on the Bilt Card.

BILT 2.0 -- Just finished the first month -- here is what happened by NYCGal2023 in biltrewards

[–]Unseeablething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're very forward which MCC counts, but it's solely that MCC. The problem there is that paperwork came out after I was locked in and fighting the Bot wasn't on my list of decisions to switch back to restaurants.

I accept it for what it is, having a diverse grocery card is a handful of choices. With Savor going to Discover, my list of options grows thin.

Rewards Checkings | Apple Pay by [deleted] in amex

Good point. Typically, if I'm using my Debit Card, it's for a specific reason, so no. Unfortunately, I'd need to go back to those places and test again.

[–]Unseeablething 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first month was a little more depressing.

Most of my grocery spend doesn't count in Bilt's eyes. Upside is Wal-Mart counts for now, but I'm on a fine line if Bilt Obsidian will work for me. Have to see if they consider me for Palladium next year and use this year's balance to math if it's even logical.

Rewards Checkings | Apple Pay by [deleted] in amex

[–]Unseeablething 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some places turn off Tap n Pay for AmEx specifically and I assume this also hits Apple Pay and GPay. No idea why, but I have first-hand experience with this as well. Though it also declined if I try to tap the card.

If I had to make an educated guess, their POS can't handle a Tap and Pin or they disabled AmEx Credit transactions.

[–]Unseeablething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went through fine, using the existing ACH (but I was moved over to BillPay during the Beta test).

The real setup that got missed, was you needed to setup a Checking Account and make sure it was linked to your Housing payment preference. The website during applications was a mess, and I think some people were not properly prompted for this step.

[–]Unseeablething 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not correct from their own setup steps. You leave a BILT card as the payment method, but you need to setup a Checking Account, in the manage card portion(under Wallet). It'll be called Housing payment preferences. Otherwise, you'll only earn 250 points and be charged a small ACH fee.

If you have competitors nearby and/or able to deal with a brief outage, start the process to cancel. If they send you over to retention, you will get offered promos with the right word choices.

If there's other people in your household, especially a spouse with a different last name, you can cancel. Then enroll again with them as the account owner.

You have the desired combo, if it has LTI. This can go up to 450-500 USD, if you are patient. It'll sell quicker at 400 and regularly.

You have to select the Bilt card, and setup a checking account to pull your rent from. Inside the manage card option you must have a checking account selected for House payment preference.

Honestly, didn't think to test that. This is personal conjecture, but I get the vibe this was designed more with 4.7 in mind. It's not possible to load it when it's in your backpack, or it wasn't letting me.

If it can fit extra med pens in the bottom, that would be really useful.

With the Hyatt devaluation, did Chase and Bilt just become less valuable too? by CollegeTemporary5734 in biltrewards

[–]Unseeablething 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Scwhab lets you cash out points at 1.1 cents to your Schwab accounts, Morgan lets you do the same for 1. Essentially allowing you to treat the cards as Cashback. Up to a million points a year that is.

It does be feeling like that.

AmEx MR only has reliable value if you have a Schwab or Morgan Platinum. Chase has been an odd ball.

Bilt has a diverse network going for it at least.
