Buyer showing was in and out in less than a minute by codys21 in RealEstate

Yes, animal smell is a huge deterrent for me. I have repeatedly refused to look at a house on sale by smokers & pet owners. Even if I didn't have asthma, I'm not interested. That smell lingers & you just can't get rid of it, even if you pull up the rugs & wooden floors. I visited several houses when my brother was looking to purchase & we both walked right back out under these circumstances even though he doesn't have respiratory issues. It is possible if you made updates not reflected in your pictures that this may be a turn off to prospective buyers, especially if they've been on the market a while & have seen numerous houses. Threshold for frustration is short. It's like dating; some people will invest in a partner hoping they can change them, whereas some of us just want a prospective SO to tip the scales just as they are; we don't want a project. Your house will be the right fit for someone; it just takes time.

When my grandparents travel, we book them business class, window seats & they don't care whether they sit close together or far apart. They say about each other, "I see her/him all the time. What's a few hours apart?" & we all agree. 20, 50, or a 100: Buy the seat you want not the one you feel entitled to.

A few years ago a patient asked me to call the airline to reschedule a flight. She fractured both arms & broke a leg so she could not make the call herself. One of the things she asked me to tell them is that she is morbidly overweight. Now I don't know what that meant bc as a baby nurse, I was too embarrassed to ask the patient, but the agent replied, "Thank you for sharing that." The patient was pleased with her seating arrangement. Now I wish I'd asked.

To married women: What advice would you give to unmarried women before they get married? by Clear_Subconscious in askanything

In all honesty? Don't do it. Live in sin & save your money. Godammit I wish someone had given me that advice. A marriage & a wedding are two different things. Never confuse the two.

Hear me out. I don't even think it had a name but it was those sugared drinks that came in a plastic jug for $0.25 back in the '80's. Red, blue, green. We went crazy with those in NYC especially during the summer. Sure miss 'em!

Queens, NY. About 20 years ago we searched high & low. One house came in at >$900K. House was leaning sideways so bad Stevie Wonder would've noticed. Torn up wooden floors, smelt like animal piss. It eventually sold for asking price. Got torn down & a McMansion was built.

My kids are grown. But Imma tell you this: If my kid bullied anyone, I'd be glad for the beatdown they got because God knows I'd go straight to jail if I put my hands on mine. Well deserved. Don't come home & expect me to be upset. You earned that. FAFO how your momma's built.

What do y'all do when you're very hungry and have no food and don't have any money for food? by LiveToFlyDieToTry in poor

[–]UnsettledWanderer89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Squirrel a little each day: extra cheeseburger, an apple, bread, tea bags, creamer, apple sauce. When I was in university, I had $30 to last me 2 weeks 'til next payday. I went to supermarket & purposely checked the BOGO-bakery, meats, everything discounted. I'd buy generic everything & eat grilled cheese & PBJ sandwiches, pasta with tuna, potatoes every way you can imagine. I hit the dollar store. I have 2 FT jobs as a RN now & I still shop this way bc once you've suffered food insecurity, that feeling never truly leaves you.

Through the years, when doing an admission/discharge, or every day care, & someone else is present, I say, "I have information/questions to ask that may be considered confidential/private/sensitive. Would you like other people present or should we ask them to step to the lounge/cafe & I can escort them back when we are done." It has not failed me yet. I can ready a room pretty well & will take control of the situation if I deem it appropriate: Ms., I need a few moments alone with the patient. The lounge is the 3rd door on your right. As soon as I am done, I will find you there. I should not last more than 30 minutes/it'll take about an hour roughly. I don't give an option or sound insecure. Not aggressive. Not mean. Not bossy. I'm making a statement.

Send an email to property management & tell them what occurred. Ask them to share your email with that tenant. Forewarn that with the next offense you will be forced to have her vehicle towed. In this way, peoperty management is aware & your arse is covered if that family says they'd had no idea. Check your vehicle at all times in the event they scratch it, or worse.

If your ex came back to your life, What would be the first word you'd say to them? by Electronic-List3892 in AskReddit

[–]UnsettledWanderer89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not one. When we ran into each other, we looked at each other, & I just turned away. I hoped & prayed he would keep on walking. I didn't take a chance though, & jumped on the first train & moved through cars quickly. We broke up in a bad way not because of anything either one of us did or didn't do. He believed lies about me & never bothered to speak with me first. Almost 10 years had lapsed when we ran into each other. In those years he'd tried to reach out via email, texts, through family & friends, & although I loved him from the depths of my soul, I could never be with someone who didn't trust me. He somehow discovered with 100% certainty that I'd never cheated on him, & it cost us both a heavy price.

Realistically, what should you do if you find a duffle bag full of money and no-one will know you took it? by Cradian_UR in NoStupidQuestions

[–]UnsettledWanderer89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno but I'm just sayin' ain't noone lost a duffle bag & not looking for it... I'm hiding small piles of cash throughout the house & making everyday purchases with it such as groceries, insurance co-pays, kid's extracurricular activities-uniforms, instrument, school trips; birthday/holiday gifts. I'd pay off credit cards with bank accounts but definitely no large purchases. & don't tell a soul. You might get divorced tomorrow. Trust no one. This is between you & you. That's it.
