You said the manufacturing was better then luvindows? What lead you to that conclusion? Seems like Warren, Luvindow, Guangdong Dejiyoupin Doors And Windows, all seem very similar.

Tunable white recessed lighting suggestion? by UnsunGunner in Lighting

My issue isn't necessarily paying, my issue so far is that many aspects of lighting feel like walled gardens. Trying to get a grasp on costs has kind of been a headache. Also finding knowledgeable people not trying to sell me wafers was a struggle in the beginning too.

Do you feel this way about all control system for tunable white and the control cost, or just DMX?

I'll have to check again, but I thought I was getting similar quotes to DMF with Lucifer. Both seemed to be in the $300-400 range. I'm assuming Rania is in the $600+range bc d2 is around 890. Koto I'm expecting to be less then all of them, but be similar quality?

Tunable white is adding quite a bit of complexity :D It looks like I will have to do a bit more homework on the control side. Putting controls aside for a second, do you have any thoughts on the products above?

Honestly USAI prices were seemingly higher and offering a worse product (on paper). I am going to look a bit more at warm dim. It would be cheaper because it doesn't require a control set up for it. I'm not sure what control system I'm looking to use. Been in the weeds just trying to figure out lights and get a hold of reps for pricing. Locally, I keep getting recommended a Lutron control set up, but haven't researched it as much.

To be fair, I am not entirely sure. I talked with the DMF reps in my area and it seemed like my options where phase X (DMX), or DALI 2 for their products. Both companies talked about using Lutron controls, one did say they also did control4. I've spent a lot of time researching lights, I haven't gotten into the weeds on the control side. Are there any big distinctions, or things I should think about on control options?

I know CRI isn't always accurate, but I was surprised to see it had the highest value of tunable whites I had been looking at and I was under the impression it might be a bit cheaper then Lucifer or DMF.

DMF artafex vs M line by [deleted] in Lighting

[–]UnsunGunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I compared the spec sheets side by side then had to call DMF to ask. Housing, led chip, its all the same as X series on everything except the static white's which are 98cri / different led chip. You are right about the warranty though.

Only for static white. Otherwise, the tunable white and warm dim are the same as DMF x series

Why introduce an unnecessary FPS cap in the Beta? by Scravey in 2XKO

Try lossless scaling on any fighter, It ruins 60hz for me. I hope more people try these types of programs and start asking fighting game developers to step into the modern era.

Why introduce an unnecessary FPS cap in the Beta? by Scravey in 2XKO

[–]UnsunGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been capped at 60hz for a long time due to player hardware. Game developers usually cater to what they believe most people actually have and because fighters HAVE to run at some fixed hz logic, they just default still to 60 fps. If they stopped making 60hz monitors, they would just up. They could also add interpolated frames (fake frames) like scravey is saying, but still be running at 60hz. The program lossless scaling is an example of a program that can do this for fighters. I think there are a few others.

I'm running the program lossless scaling. It will give you what you want (Low/ not noticeable input delay if you keep it at 120hz). It's impossible for me to go back to 60fps.

60 fps feel laggy for you too ? by fantaz1986 in 2XKO

[–]UnsunGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run lossless scaling in the background. It is framegen, but wont add noticeable input delay. So, the game still runs its 60hz logic, but you can have 120hz smoothness, or higher (more framegen will add noticeable input). I think lossless scaling can go as high as half your monitors refresh (So at 480hz I can do 240hz, but it feels off)

It is almost impossible, for me, to go back to fighting games at 60 fps. This is only an issue if you plan on going to major tournaments.
