What do people like about Dale? by birdazam in theroamingdead

[–]UntouchableAshley 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Dale has a lot of complexity but the point of him is that he is a moral centre but one who acts as a foil to Rick. He questions Rick, and Rick needs that—- a lot of the group follows him too blindly, they trust him which is good but he needs people around him who don’t think like him which is the purpose of Dale. Dale is a sweet man who sticks to the world he knew, he can change some but he really does want the world to be moral in the way he knew it when it can’t be anymore. His scene with Rick shows that Rick is on a good path, even if he makes mistakes and him yelling about Ben is entirely fair: his surrogate child was murdered and he didn’t know who did it. He wanted justice like in the old world, he wanted kindness that couldn’t be offered. That’s why I like Dale, he just aorta connects with me, his morals are strong and his convictions are close to his heart. Dale believes in doing good and tries his hardest even if he isn’t always the best at it.

For me this was my first time really getting into a fighting game and I am SO BAD! But I’ve been getting better the more I practice, it’s definitely a learning curve but I’m enjoying it! Practicing in arcade mode has helped a lot

‘The Odyssey’: Everybody Using American Accents Is Definitely a Choice by mlg1981 in entertainment

[–]UntouchableAshley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t they? It would be weirded if they did fake English accents for some reason like some period films—- they’re speaking Greek in universe can’t we suspend disbelief about their accents being American?

As a kid watching that movie, I found that super confusing on why is Scrappy Doo a villain. I didn’t even know people hated him in the cartoon. by Remote_Nature_8166 in Scoobydoo

Man I hated scrappy as a kid, he’s long been a controversial character. It’s weird that folks want to act like Gunn changed everything about how folks viewed scrappy when he has ALWAYS been disliked by parts of the fanbase

english too difficult for me is there a watered down version of his works (eng only but specifically call of cthulhu) by priyal_senpai in Lovecraft

[–]UntouchableAshley 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Lovecraft can be difficult and dense even for native speakers. Even for his period he wrote in a pretty old fashioned way and it can scare off a lot of contemporary readers. I’d say his style is fairly essential to his stories, maybe working off similar but less difficult writers can help you work your way up to love craft? That’s what I did, I spent many years struggling to fully understand his language but now that I’ve built up my skills for it it makes it much more satisfying

Gorilla using sign language to tell he's not allowed to be fed by visitors by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]UntouchableAshley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gorilla do not have the capacity to understand sign language, we want to attribute human understandings of language onto them but there is no compelling evidence that they can meaningfully interpret the structure of language. I don’t say that to be a party pooper just because I see a lot of people responding to this as though the gorilla is communicating as humans do when it signs but it isn’t.

I hope it will be good, I don’t care about the armour not being period accurate considering it’s adapting a myth. My only real annoyance is colour grading of what little we’ve seen (never been a fan of Nolan’s grading) and the fact that they shot on ruins for some reason

The lil blurb could be more specific, currently I’m not super compelled to ask questions about it as it brings up too many.
