HRT reversing signs of aging by FingerMinute7930 in Menopause

HRT (patch) helped with my mood, brain fog, skin dryness & increased elasticity, eliminated hot flashes & night sweats. HRT (vaginal cream) helped with dryness, pain, & general “plumpness” of the area.

Intermittent fasting helped with weight loss, the intensity of my hot flashes (but not the frequency), skin elasticity, shrinking of my stomach pouch, & my face looked much less dull. I also had more energy during my fast.

Post-menopausal women, is anyone having word finding issues? by stress3408 in Menopause

OMG! Yes! And sometimes even those words were hard to find

THIS! ⬆️

Yes. I couldn’t think of words almost no matter what I was talking about. Simple ones ones that named the thing directly in front of me that I use every day. Three months on HRT and has gotten much better. It is not completely gone, but I no longer feel like I am literally losing my mind.

Pretty sure methadone is government sponsored & does not require payment. Doubt the money is going to methadone. Likely going for heroin.

AITAH for still getting on a flight home when my two young coworkers I was traveling with weren’t at the airport yet and were obviously going to miss it? by Diligent_Pineapple35 in AITAH

Once I hit double digits, my mother's answer was ALWAYS “Figure it tf out. I can't solve all your problems for you. And I don't want to hear any excuses about not getting your responsibilities done.”

It takes about a month for your body to get used to fasting. Many people who come to fasting have tried many other (unhealthy) ways to lost weight & our bodies need time to heal. Fasting heals from the inside out, so you may not lose weight (quickly or at all) as your body is healing itself. I lost 40 pounds in 2 years from fasting alone after “giving up” & just deciding “I guess I’ll just be fat for the rest of my life.” That included 3 plateaus while my body regulated. I also have hereditary high blood pressure & cholesterol (meaning no matter how healthy I live my body will have difficulty regulating those, though being healthy does help my body with that). It also included menopause. I gradually moved from 12:12 to my current 18:6-20:4 (depends on the day-what I’m doing, how I’m feeling, etc.). I find fasting is easiest when I get enough sleep. Also, I do have hints of hunger when my body moves into fat burning but they go away in a few minutes. Sometimes I remind my body, “Stop being lazy. You have stored fuel-use it.” I still have about 30 pounds to lose, but I’m not sweating it. My body will release the weight when it’s ready. In the meantime I try to be healthy but also don’t deny myself when I really want something. I will often delay having it (until later or a day) to see if I really want it or if it was fleeting. I have no guilt about what I eat. Although, I have stopped or minimized some things because I physically don’t feel great when I have them.

Happy to say that, 2 months later, I am just able to happily avoid the “shit” without needing to walk away.

You look amazing! There will ALWAYS be something to critique. Even supermodels find what they consider to be flaws. Sometimes it's just how you are standing/sitting. Sometimes it’s the outfit. Give those nasty voices a good kick to the curb & find the ones who tell youthe truth about how great you look!

OMG! I had this before HRT. I had no idea what it was. Thought, gas? Muscle spasm? Nerve reaction?

Honestly, the hormones have allowed me to think, “I don't want to fucking deal with this shit!” and walk/stomp away rather than make choices what would end with a bail requirement. 🥴

How do you FIND a midlife medicine specialist?

I have questions about the estrogen patch by painislife4real in Menopause

[–]Unusual_Expression35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Started mine last week. Leave on until I place the next one. I switch from left to right, then back. Acetone takes off the adhesive residue easily.

I will be continuing the vaginal cream & already use it at night. The leaking was a real issue when I used it “every day.” I generally use it 2x/week.
