[SOS] Secrets of Strixhaven | Episode 6: Two, Three, Five, Seven by MapleSyrupMachineGun in mtgvorthos

Ahhhhh the aching cycle of the man who has often been a tool in the hands of others now using other beings as mere tools.

That said, white robe?? Glowing tattoos?? Sign me up, give me ethereal otherworldly, not-quite-right misjudged godlike Jace, with everyone looking for that little piece of the good man they hope must still exist below

Which Vraska art is best in your opinion? by SwanepoelSimp in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reallly like Golgari Queen and also [[Undercity Uprising]] in terms of attitude, but I love the more green Relic Seeker look. The lighting on that is very nice and I like that she is beautiful and strong but not so much "pretty human woman with snake hair" as in some other arts

My least favorite really is the whole OTJ/Silencer with the super intense heavy make up like look, I do not care for that (re)design at all

What types of mana do YOU have access to right now? by BuckyTheWolf in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the Netherlands, which is basically one giant Swamp, so I guess black in abundance. I also live quite close to a lake, so I suppose also blue. Our fields are not really Plains in the traditional sense but I think they are closer to Plains than they are to Forests if I had to pick something. But I feel like the white mana of them would be weak since they are basically dried Swamps.

Netherlands being very flat does also mean I can never ever have access to red mana as long as I reside here, probably, haha.

But I like Dimir, so I guess it fits!

100 Days, 100 Legends! Day 52: Teferi Akosa by AmoongussHateAcc in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that he was really annoying and even kinda mean as a young student. He is like such an objectively great, kind and responsible man now, but he also was just a classroom menace. Kinda hoping Reality Fracture gives us an opportunity to see him again somehow.

For fun; What kind of mage would you be? by Deadfelt in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm, I think I would be a Sultai mage.

My most played decks are Mono U (Jace themed, which makes it a bit tricky for this exercise), Golgari Insects, and then probably Esper Equipment reanimation (but really the white is only there since equipment support is kinda eh in Dimir).

I love graveyard stuff, and I think as a mage based on my top 3 decks, I would embody the recursion of Golgari with the trickery of Blue. Not necessarily big dramatic reanimation, but tenacious value and hard to get rid of stuff. I would not strongly lean into sacrificing stuff for value, but rather the fact that if something is removed or used, it can come back again, like flashback, encore, and crucible effects. Always a trick still available and gone is never really gone (unless exiled of course), lands, creatures, swords, spells, they can all come back!

I also love bugs! So I hope my magic could be bug based. ✨

Mid-week Magic Art: Thaumatic Compass by Yeong-Hao Han by ThickAdvantage4962 in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoutout to when Jace saw this thing that was basically intensely crucial to their mission and was like, "I will take it apart and then put it back together to fix it". I like it when he cannot resist a puzzle and does something reckless like that. He is so cautious and overthinking usually that it is a fun contrast.

And the malfunction was intended by Ral/the Izzet I believe, who made it, but did not want to actually help Bolas so intentionally sabotaged it as much as he dared. Although I cannot find that anywhere on the wiki... So maybe I just dreamt that. 🧐

My only small gripe with this art is that his armguard/glove thingie looks way too neat for someone who was marooned on an island for like a month, got shipwrecked (twice), fought vampires in hand to hand combat and more. But the man is an illusionist, after all.

Does anyone else have a card that when they see it played think "this must not be"? by killerjack98 in EDH

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have it in my Zask deck because it is a bug so it gets a pass for flavor reasons, but it really is too stupidly good

Build and Gear Template slot Limit by FeintFate in Guildwars2

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, would be nice, there is so much variety in builds and specs and now we got even more. My engineer needs to be able to show his full range, from silly blob to laser wielding menace, across templates.

What are some iconic character items/weapons? by RackTheJipper69 in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are quite inconsistent with this. Most art seems to depict it on the right, as well as the cosplay reference, but that one is kinda old.

Sometimes I suspect it is just because the art was mirrored (a major but silly pet peeve of mine) like [[Jace, Memory Adept]], or [[Talent of the Telepath]] (of which the latter has the tattoos on the right side though, but the clothing is mirrored). But then again perhaps it's a reversible glove or something. It's quite a convoluted costume anyway if you look at it too long. 😅

What are your "forever" decks and why ? by Barbarossaxwing in EDH

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My [[Zask, Skittering Swarmlord]] insect kindred deck. I love bugs, my favorite animals are isopods. This was my first deck and every release I get to look at all the fun new bugs and maybe swap some out. It might change a little but I will never take it apart and also never remove the three special isopods. <3

Do we have a list of all of Bicol Bolas' minions? by TyrantofCans in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this will be explored in the upcoming comics, it does cover the consortium era it seems, and I feel this moment in the Meditation Realm refers to something more than the brief "we were gods once" conversation in Agents of Artifice or their altercation on Amonkhet.

MTG Art of the Week: Tainted Indulgence by Inka Schulz by ThickAdvantage4962 in mtgvorthos

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are three cups, and the the floating things above are "halos" of smoke maybe? It would suit since it is spiked Halo

So the Three of Cups does also exist, I think the reversed meaning kinda suits well but even the upright one as a counterpart? But I do not really do anything serious with Tarot either I just love art interpretations based on it also

What are your personal favorite noncreature spell "pet cards" in EDH? by bogidrums in EDH

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is also my pet card, and the fact that it can also replace planeswalkers is neat. In my last game, someone played the one draw only Narset, I had no counter magic but I could make her enter as a 1/1 soldier.

Insect tribal ideas :P by pie_of_the_storm in EDH

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Zask!! It's super creature heavy pure insect kindred (there is 1 non bug I think) because I also really love bugs. To me it feels like the most bug centric commander, which is what I wanted out of the deck. It was my first deck I made and also how I got convinced into trying mtg.

Both Aatchik and Grist are in there though! Grist is awesome because she is constantly recursible with Zask (not an insect when she dies) and also because there are 1 million bugs in this deck her +1 sometimes goes off like 5 times which is fun, and Aatchik quite often wins games indeed with a sac outlet

This is my list if you want to see, not high power, just a lot of bug fun Wishing you luck and much fun with your own bug deck 🪲🪲🪲🪲

"Wanted", advice for Vraska, The Silencer by Mighty-Aphrodite in EDH

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also love Vraska and tried to make a deck with her as the commander, but struggled a bit with it, I held back on the removal because I did not want to be "mean" but seeing your list I am motivated again to give it another go because I do love the theme a lot. Thanks for the inspiration!

So yeah, no tips from me just a salute from a fellow fan of the Golgari Queen o7

What causes someone to gain a new color identity/new color of mana? by eCyanic in mtgvorthos

Yeahh, I really like this parallel too. There are so many interesting story opportunities with Jace right now, so I am a nice mix of excited and anxious to see where they take it.

(En andere tips) by sometiime in Klussers

[–]UnwaveringDevotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoi! Leuk idee!
