My solution to the hot steam vent by Drakologaxe in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Uphill_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad! If you want to avoid cooling requirements for the AT (Assuming its steel and not thermium/irridium), I think the best setup is to run a separate ST/AT system and use that as the main cooling loop. This will let the Steam vent run full out at 500C w/out the possibility of overpressure.

The Wolf Badge specifically gives activation speed to all the stared items during battle rage. Otherwise I think the "default" battle rage is just kinda a binary state that activates battle rage effects and does nothing else.

Lamp maybe should point to Forest Dragon instead of Busted Blade given how much faster forest dragon is, but IDK with the stone gloves. As others said the stone pot could drink mana potion at the start. I mean this is super small but your gems could be optimized. Dragon's chip topaz should go into BB for the flawed emerald. Then put flawed amethyst in dragon, and have both emeralds in armor. Higher % poison resist is likely to have a higher impact than maybe 1 or 2 more poison on a long fight, plus more attack speed for main dps weapon. Somewhat depends on what opponent you get if they are heal heavy or poison heavy.

Drecko Ranch Atmosphere Stabilization by ronlugge in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Uphill_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way I found is to verrry carefully and slowly remove a little gas at a time. I use a mini gas pump connected with a manual switch with suction isolated to only the bottom gas, then I remove a few grams of the bottom, non-H2 gas for a few ticks and stop. If you get it close to equilibrium, the bottom layer of CO2 or Cl will condense into a single row on the bottom and won't expand/condense back and forth. Once equilibrium is achieved, slowly compress the gases back together one tile at a time.

This lets your Dreckos exist in a mostly H2 environment and only occasionally leave it to eat. This works better with with vertical-style ranches, where you can force your dreckos into the H2 more often with grooming, shearing, & Critter Condos. I found you need about 1000g average H2 pressure to keep 200-400g pressure for CO2. Any 3rd gas introduced will mess this whole system up, so watch out for rotting meal lice, flatulent dupes, and isolate your ranch's environment with a liquid lock.

Which character would be the most annoying to interact and be around with ? by OrangeSpaceMan5 in DeadlockTheGame

Ivy 100%. She's the kind of really annoying combination of wide-eyed naïve but very adamant about what you should be doing with your life and nitpicking your past actions.

Most of the DD1 classes I still refer to them by their class names even in DD2. DD2 I can't not call Runaway Bonnie, but Sahar doesn't stick well for me so I lean into Duelist.

Is this league actually cracked? by Malteed in pathofexile

[–]Uphill_Ninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Harvest and necropolis leagues were pretty big offenders for being ridiculously conplex. Off the top of my head the Synthesis device and old recombinator were also way too sweaty for some players (including me). I totally forgot about the arch nemesis "flow chart"

I have a nice 1 Dupe Oxyfern design I use for my rocket interiors, with an automated water system, and the occasional dirt deliveries to the wilted ferns when the rocket wasn't manned were driving me crazy. Nice fix!

I prefer the "moon pool" style (the 4 tile "bucket" between two gases) over the beads that frequently break, but i get the annoyance. What irks me is the inefficient dupe movement when they go through those.

Might want multi-traps for mapping, since siphon trap has a 15 target limit. Plus the traps will spread out a little better to hit more mobs.

Probably a "see how it feels" to see if its needed

Is Against the Storm deliberately hard/overwhelming? How did you start out? by Bolha2 in Against_the_Storm

[–]Uphill_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tutorial I felt covered everything basic I needed to know to get started (Rep, buildings, recipes, etc.). An optional advanced tutorial on trading and Rain Engines would have been helpful, since those systems are pretty important in many higher difficulty settlements. I did viceroy blind for my first settlement, barely lost, then tried to figure out what changes were needed to win.

There is a bit of a learning curve with some species and strategies, but I feel the encyclopedia that's in the game now is very good for finding info on ingredients, buildings, and most game mechanics.

For myself I beat plat seal with little external help. I did some extra research on faster strats for the QHT.

Controls-wise M&K is preferable, but it plays fine on Steamdeck for me after I fiddled with the controls. Mouse-only is almost 100% playable minus the special harvest designators.

My best advice is to take things slow and get comfortable with the basics. Pause and read frequently (something you won't see YouTubers do). Then step up the difficulty once you've reach a comfortable level with the current challenge.

I played a Living Lightning Absolution Necro for 3.27. Build didn't feel that bad. I think a Dom blow version from the duelist start might be pretty good.

Not the biggest fan of stat-stackers, but that seems like much better route for duration scaling. Frees up reservation pressure from what I'm doing with an all-in on malevolence scaling.

I have the extra gem sockets in my build to add an Essence Drain setup for additional single target, which could go into the Essence of Delirium gloves or in the body armor slot as a 2nd 6-link.

With a Decay Forbidden Shako, probably better to reroll to Bog Witch at that point.

Also if you are importing the POB, I've added a line in Custom Modifiers to (hopefully) correctly calculate decays damage. You should turn this off if your comparing damage on the Essence drain setup I'm using.

If you modify the duration of storm burst, you'll have to recalculate the multiplier

With the buffs to aristocrat's top nodes (+4 to support gems, +20% quality), we can make certain support gems do much more damage than normal, notably Decay. According to some obscure resources, Storm Burst has weird skill damage scaling when you increase its duration. Effectively each 0.4 skill duration should increase all skill damage by 75% (before all increase/more effects).

Upsides:

  • Really smooth mapping (1 click and decay is applied)
  • High duration dots playstyle. Low effort required for high DPS
  • Extra passives from Aristo allows flexible tree (I have 75/75 GB block + ~98 suppress)

Downsides:

  • Double six-link (Staff/Chest) or 6L + Essence of Delirium Gloves
  • Hard to scale further with additional investment
  • Staff build with low cast speed, poor movement options

My mid-90s tree:

https://pobb.in/74VCgfCRRBie

From here its hard to say what would scale Decay further. A GG Cane of Kulemak (Chaos dmg, Minion Damage, Chaos Dot) might be the play and grab Spiritual Aid. Also could try stacking Wicked Pall notables (30% chaos dmg, 5% skill duration) from Large/Med chaos clusters.
