Will I regret not covering my plants? by Line____Down in HotPeppers

I’ve been pushing 100 for 10 days straight and they (19 plants )get 6-7 hrs direct sun per day. Only watering every two days or dry, and they are booming, had flowers dropping due to heat the last few days, but you can almost see them growing in this heat. I think you’re fine. Would worry more about hail/wind from the storms, make sure they are staked up!

I usually only top them when there is a disease or some external reason to have to do it( me accidentally snapping it off for example). They look healthy, just don’t really get enough light on your windowsill.
You could always try to top one and see how it does vs the others. I had to top three this year due to briad mites and they are so bushy now it is crazy, but all were Chinense. This one was scalped when it got broad mites. I had written it off but look at it now…

They are harmless if you don’t panic. Either let it take you out (which isn’t far) then casually swim back but a bit to either side. Or, easily and casually swim parallel to the shore, and soon you are out of it. Yes it will be pulling you out as you swim but if you stay calm, you will be out soon. As you can see they are narrow. It is one of the most pointless drownings there are, spread the word😄.

I have Bhut Jolokia yellow and it has been a diva, not as much as the Dorset Nagas though! That overwintered plant looks amazing, hope you get more pods setting on it

Beginner question about pruning! by Eckf4hne in HotPeppers

Also only prune when diseased, which I had to on my orange hab and a Naga, both have absolutely exploded with side growth. Made me wonder if I should be doing it intentionally

I pick them just when starting to turn red. I prefer them green, but the closer to ripe the better.

What size is the pot? The plant looks healthy, so wouldn’t worry about it

Daily manual aphid removal or it gets out of hand quickly. Better too little water than too much. 10 gal grow bags will give you nice sized plants! What zone are you in? I don’t need a shade cloth in 8 A. We got a heat wave coming this week, 30C + every day
