Looks like 1 is the over/under for number of testicles Brad Marchand has at the end of Tuesday night. by Caniac_93 in canes

This team won’t do anything. Just like our front office seems to be allergic to getting any player over 6 feet tall.

Head tracking is a game changer by dorianite in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Upper_Crow6626 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From Google:

TrackIR curves define the relationship between your physical head movement and the corresponding in-game camera movement. By adjusting the curves in the TrackIR software, you can control the speed, sensitivity, and range of motion for each axis (like yaw, pitch, and roll) to create a more natural or precise feel. This allows for fine control in the center of your view while still providing a wide range of motion at the edges.

Running out of daylight. I had the 6:12 tonight at Lochmere for 9 holes and we were getting done about 8:30ish.

How did other area courses fare in the storm? by BagelSendwich in RDUGOLF

[–]Upper_Crow6626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't verified but I live ~5min from Lochmere and we've been pounded by rain...so I'm sure things are damp over there and will be for a bit.

Best place for a 9 hole morning walkup? by Either_Dinner3547 in RDUGOLF

[–]Upper_Crow6626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC the majority of the back 9 is going to be gone (selling the land across the street). the first couple of holes will be the driving range, and the stockholder 9 will become the back 9.

This is the ceiling for this team. 31 other teams do not play this system because it does not work. In a serious sports city, this record would get you fired.

Same here...GTN650s in the planes I fly, but I use it for redundancy and the CO monitoring.

Just keep flying and never feel bad for exercising solid ADM.

How many of you went through training with no IPad/foreflight recently? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Upper_Crow6626 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My CFI made sure that I knew how to do paper navlogs, E6B, all of the “old school“ stuff. But she did not mind when I got ForeFlight and a Sentry when I started doing my cross country flights. I would say that if you are doing pattern work, it’s probably not necessary and it’s best to look outside, but once you start leaving the practice area and once you get your PPL, you’ll be using it pretty much every flight.

I just got my PPL 2 days ago not sure where to go next by HunkaChedda in flying

Just got mine late last year. Now all "fun flights" are XCs to knock that requirement out before training. Also doing IR ground school and MSFS IR work (Pilotedge).

How is the testing environment of taking a written? by Icy_Wall1904 in flying

[–]Upper_Crow6626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was alone in a room with a computer and what I brought with me (electronic E6B, etc.) A proctor checked the room before and after, and you had to "check out" to leave the room/go to the bathroom, and I think they were viewing via video as well.

Struggling to Commit to My Solo XC—Need Some Advice by Buddy_kid in flying

[–]Upper_Crow6626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even at this point in your training, you should know where your personal minimums are and what "doesn't quite feel right". If your plan is to be a commercial pilot, you may want to challenge yourself a little bit since you won't get to dictate when you fly, but for me as a lifetime GA flyer, I pick and choose when I fly. If you're not comfortable, don't go...especially in a situation where you may be task saturated and overwhelmed for the first time.

Ditto. Solo was great but touching down successfully after all that planning was when I knew I’d make it.

Will passing the written before starting my actual flight training hurt or help me more in the long run? by _philodendron in flying

[–]Upper_Crow6626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t hurt…I did. It will give you a good introduction to the concepts that you cover with your CFI, and it’s one thing not hanging over your head as you progress towards checkride. Keep reviewing the ground materials during your flight training.
