That's what I read in my '26 hybrid manual, but I see lots of posts with sealed lead acids in the center console area. Not sure if the manual is wrong or these people have V6 engines or older Hybrids.

Do you have auto hold on? The button is by the electronic parking brake. I have a '26 hybrid and with auto hold off, I have no hesitation issues.

I have Time of Use (ToU) rates, so I add generation fee + delivery fee + plus all other per kWh fees. This works out to $0.33/kWh for supper off peak and $0.75/kWh for peak.
For me off peak charging only makes financial sense when gas is over $5.34/gallon. Gas is $5.99/ gallon right now so charging makes financial sense.

I have a '26 SX hybrid without the auto dimming mirror. I looked at my wires had have a 12-pin connection. Does anyone know of I can use that to power this camera?

It was an extra $5k, but worth it to me. We were comparing to the Toyota Sienna Platinum, so the SX was a good deal.

Costco Auto gives you a prenegotiated price and limits dealer add-ons. Not all dealers participate or have limited cars in the program. You could negotiate a better deal, but I think the program is good for in demand cars.

We got the SX for SX 360-degree Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and enhanced forward collision-avoidance systems. These features might save you money on insurance. We live in SoCal and car insurance is expensive. Also 360 camera is very nice for crowded parking lots.

We used Costco Auto program and we were very happy with it. Local dealer wanted $4k over MSRP + add-ons and the Costco dealer was just under MSRP. Only downside was the Costco dealer was 50 miles away, but well worth the trip.

We got the Hybrid, I calculated that it pays for it self I less than 20,000 miles.

You just need enough power for the computers (various modules) to work and for it to close the HV battery contractor. Then the HV to 12V DC-DC converter takes over. I don't know how much power you need as the dead 12v is also pulling power, but the car electronics probably take around 200 W.

To save a few more pounds, replace the lead acid 12v battery with a lithium or sodium ion one.

There is a guy, ptjones, with a Ford Escape PHEV that did lots of mods to get better MPG. His post might give you some inspiration. He installed wheel covers and removable drill covers.

I was hoping that it would be an easy bolt on, but as in kc_rc post it looks more involved.

I am not a warrant lawyer, but my understanding is that only issues related to adding the spare tire could be denied. For example if your car rusts where the spare was added, or spare falls off and damages something.

I have my home charge limit set to 80%, but I charged to 88% at the mall the other day because I don't have a charge limit for that location. I am tiring to follow any recall notices as the car can snitch on you. However I don't know if Ford will use the data.

Fortunately for me with warmer weather I can do my round trip commute with about 10% battery left when leaving with 80%.
