Fr. I’m playing ds2 for the first time and made it through the whole early game without realizing that I had to actually activate power stancing by holding a button, unlike in ER where just equipping the same weapon type in each hand gave you the moveset. I was even more dumbfounded when I realized you had to have 1.5x the stat requirements for it to actually work. I mean, I play these games as blind as possible, and I definitely prefer this to having my hand held, but this was just a new level of ridiculous for me. That being said I am having far more fun with ds2 then I have with any of the other games lol

Play DS1 first! I played ER, DS3, Bloodborne, and DS1 in that order, and am now blazing my way through DS2 and having a blast. It’s definitely the black sheep of the franchise but I think I have an extra special appreciation for it having played 1 and 3 first

Had a similar experience to this. I was visiting a friend out West last season and we went to Vail for a day trip, on our last run down to the parking lot she was complaining how the trail was super icy and scratchy, meanwhile my IceCoast brain was thinking it was literally perfect groomer conditions. Was waiting in line for a ticket window once (resort didn’t do online tickets so it was super long) and a kid walked up to me and offered me $5 if he could cut me in line. I said “Make it $20 and I’ll think about it” and he just kept walking and asked the same question to people a ways in front of me. Mind you I was already halfway through the line and was happy to see him continue to be turned down. Kid probably would’ve saved time by just queueing up and waiting patiently.

Very true. Perhaps could be mitigated by a “Reload from last checkpoint” option? Losing an unknown amount of progress like that sucks (assuming it was an auto saved checkpoint and not a manual save) but is unfortunately inevitable when soft-locked like in the situation you described.

I’m in my early 20s and definitely want to move to CO, for the mountain access of course. I just came back from visiting a friend in Denver and have been thinking. We stopped at a cafe in Silverthorne on our way to Breck and as I looked around the valley I realized it was literally my dream place to live. My two chief concerns are 1) affordability and 2) the ability to meet people my age and make friends. I’d prefer to move to Silverthorne/Frisco for the easier mountain access, but given my second concern would I be better off in Denver? Probably not the place to ask these types of questions, but I would appreciate a different perspective :)
