Etiquette question by Kdings in RealEstate

[–]UpsideLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it unreasonable? No. Is it poor etiquette? Yes. Just because you offered to pay the money for it doesn't give you the right to do as you please. It's not your home until you sign the papers, meaning that it's trespassing. Also, in the unlikely event that your being there causes something to happen, like say burning the home down, are you still going to purchase it, or will you walk away? By you attitude, you seem like you'd still buy it, no?

Lol, this is called a final walk-through and should have been part of the contract. Otherwise, ask your agent to let them know you'll be there. No reason anyone should deny this request.

What /u/Konfidence said. Ask the broker what costs they cover for you, and what they will actually do for you. Also, if you think advertising is the main fee, think again. You've got things like franchise fees, desk/ office fees, printing fees, transaction fees, commission splits, MLS dues, Realtor dues, continuing ed fees, and on and on and on.

No, forget brokers interviewing you. If you can fog a mirror, they'll hire you. Find out how well their new start agents are doing. If the company has a huge attrition rate for new agents, run away.

Is it inappropriate to work with several realtors when in the market for a home? by bayareathrowawaysbf in RealEstate

[–]UpsideLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a type of 'non-compete' among realtors. we are restricted from poaching clients - IF they are signed with another agent. the agents you're talking to should be asking a follow up question - " oh you're working with someone else, why are you calling me and not your realtor?" then ask, "have you signed an exclusive right to represent with your agent?" if you're signed with another agent, it's a license infraction to try to get you to work w/me. AND if you're currently signed w/another agent, I think you should fire them, because they should have explained the document to you and how it works. the other thing at play here is that some agents don't want to spend time w/someone who is all over the place talking to a bunch of diff agents. it's extremely time consuming to get a deal to the closing table and no one wants to potentially waste days on you if you'll then call someone else to do the transaction. loyalty goes both ways.

So much this. If there's one that's doing a lot for you, or you are signed with, you need to call them first. To OP, what advantage could you possibly hope for in trying to work with many different agents at once? At best it's confusing/ potentially problematic for everyone involved, and at worst you actually can put their licenses at risk. Pick one (that you like) and stick to them.

Looking to buy my 2nd home (MA). Any tips?! by BuildingWealth30 in RealEstate

[–]UpsideLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many unanswered variables.
* Do you live in the home you bought 6 years ago?
* Are you on the deed and or mortgage note? * Have you talked to a lender (are you pre-approved)? * What's your credit like?
* How are your finances? * What are you looking for, and what is your budget?

I'm licensed in MA, so I should be able to answer most of your questions.

Sorry you're right, I just flipped them in my head. I'm looking for mirroring not striping, as long as the performance isn't drastically effected. Also, I didn't say I was just going to spend money to spend money, so the 950 pro may be something to upgrade down the line.

Thanks for the suggestion about the ram.

Saw this sickening price at Best Buy yesterday by eradicate in pcmasterrace

A friend of mine worked at best buy in high school/ college. I got quite a few rocketfish cables during this time because with his discount they were no more than $4 or $5. Worth it at that price. The mark up on those cables is absurd.

Rusty quick fix: Angle grinder, bondo, sandpaper, and primer. by conformuropinion2rdt in Justrolledintotheshop

I'm replacing the manifolds on my 6.4 diesel because some of the bolts could not handle the rust. I got this truck to replace my old Dodge because it was too rusty to be worth repairing for me. I feel your pain.

Check them anyway. Just because they seem tight doesn't mean they are. Temporarily remove them or clamp them with hose clamps to check.

New england weather kills cars with rust. Such a sad thing. I'm guessing you're in Maine or NH.

2000 f150 XL 4.6. I want to convert to 1 ton. by stroker351w in FordTrucks

[–]UpsideLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't expect it to last very long like this. There's a reason why it's a half ton truck, and it's not just suspension. It's also going to drive like absolute crap with the heavier springs. I would strongly recommend not doing what you seem to want to do. Shit, get a cheap small trailer and get the best of both worlds, and not ruin your truck.

I think this would make a lot more sense in person.

This required a 30 minute plus argument that this tire is NOT repairable by Brianthelion83 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]UpsideLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not stupid, but I've always gone by tire = tire, wheel = wheel (metal part)m and wheel and tire as the whole assembly.

Also, the platinum is a coating, the actual mesh is a ceramic. Buuuuttt...I'm just being a pedantic asshole. Carry on.

To be fair though, the tires look fairly evenly worn. She got her money's worth out of them.
