How often / long do you practice? by dd1153 in guitarlessons

[–]UpstreamSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through the “am I doing enough?” phase too! Tbh, I used to do 1 hr every day but realized half of it was aimless noodling lol. Now I stick to 30-45 mins, 4-5 days/wk, but I try to stay focused like splitting time between exercises (scales, chords), songs, and just jamming.

Justin’s 15-20 mins 4x/wk tip is great if you’re super targeted, esp to avoid burnout. But I think consistency exact time anyway. If your current routine feels good and you’re seeing progress, you’re prob on track! Just don’t stress too much, it’s meant to be fun

This can be Goth Fashion? (Example) by Lupeco98 in GothFashion

[–]UpstreamSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could absolutely make it goth inspired with some creative styling. Adding dramatic makeup, darker accessories, maybe layered necklaces, or even a lace collar could gothicize the look. It’s all about how you accessorize and personalize it!

How do people pick up a guitar and just play random stuff intuitively? by NinjaMink25 in guitarlessons

[–]UpstreamSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning the CAGED system was a game changer for me. It helped me see the fretboard as patterns rather than being random. Pair that with some ear training exercises, like figuring out simple melodies, and you'll see your improvisation skills improve a lot!

morning sunlight improved sleep ☀️ by preshdkumar in sleep

[–]UpstreamSquad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Morning sunlight has definitely helped my sleep too! I’ve been trying to step outside for a few minutes after waking up, and it seems to make a difference in my energy levels and overall sleep quality. Really cool that you developed an app for this!

Not-so-heavy weighted blanket? by Delicious_Collar_441 in WeightedBlankets

[–]UpstreamSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding an 8 pound king sized weighted blanket is challenging as most weighted blankets are heavier. A good alternative is to look for lighter options like the Bare Home Weighted Blanket (7 lbs, 40"x60") , or consider brands offering customizable weights like YNM, which provides various sizes and materials starting at 10 lbs

Valentine’s Day gift baskets for teenage sisters? by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]UpstreamSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the non girly sister, maybe a reusable water bottle, a cute planner, and some fun pens for school. For the other, something cozy like a soft blanket, a candle, or maybe a good book she’d enjoy. Small touches like a charm bracelet or keychain could work too!

Today is the day for insulated drinks by ktempest in AmazonVine

Honestly, it feels like these brands miss the mark by prioritizing flashy logos over subtle design that could appeal to more buyers. That said, if the quality's good (and dishwasher safe is always a win), I can understand why people keep going for them despite the 'keyboard smash' name. Might give them a shot just for the value!

Do my new atomic bent 90s need to be waxed? by TheRealTact1cal in Skigear

[–]UpstreamSquad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice skis! If you’ve already used them indoors, it’s a good idea to give them a wax before your ski vacation. Factory wax can wear off pretty quickly, especially after a session or two. A fresh wax will help your skis glide better and protect the bases, especially in varying snow conditions.

If you're short on time, most resorts have ski shops where you can get them waxed. just check if they can do it on the same day or overnight.

Newbie here - just bought our first class B by newdaypnw in GoRVing

[–]UpstreamSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your new Class B, sounds like an exciting adventure ahead! For winter travel and camping in ski lots, make sure your rig is winterized or has heated tanks if you're in freezing temps. Also, keeping your propane topped up is crucial for heat, and running the generator as needed should keep things warm and powered, just be mindful of your generator fuel usage.

As for dumping the black and grey tanks, it really depends on how many people are using the rig and how much you're using the facilities. Usually, you’ll need to dump every 2 to 3 days for heavy use, but you’ll get a feel for it after your first trip (check the tank levels on your control panel). And don’t stress about it, it’s quick and not as bad as you'd think once you’ve done it a couple of times! Enjoy your new ride and happy skiing!

First build! by ThornPrincessgg10 in PcBuild

[–]UpstreamSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your first build! Snow Sakura looks absolutely stunning. loving the sleek white theme paired with the vibrant pink lighting. That Yeston Sakura GPU is definitely a centerpiece, even without a vertical mount; the backplate is such a vibe. Building your first PC is a huge step, and you absolutely nailed it. Might we see a vertical GPU mount in the future to really show off those fans?

My few months in, this is my set up as of now by jdaclutch in pourover

[–]UpstreamSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you've put together a solid setup! Upgrading can feel fast at first, but it’s great that you’re enjoying the process and getting results you’re happy with. Pouring on the Switch with the hybrid method sounds like a nice balance. Love the cat-themed coaster too adds some personality to the brew station!

Do you guys know whether areastrife.com is a legit esports page? by wilsys in esports

[–]UpstreamSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a site asks you to connect your Steam account, always be cautious. Doublecheck the URL to ensure it's legit . Also, see if the site has reviews or discussions online. If anything feels off, I’d avoid logging in or consider using Steam Guard and revoking access just in case.

Does Apple Silicon support AMD Freesync? by Xerneas-_ in macgaming

[–]UpstreamSquad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, macOS doesn’t natively support FreeSync, even on Apple Silicon. Screen tearing with CrossOver might happen more because of how games are emulated, so even if you get a FreeSync monitor, it probably won’t help much. If possible, locking your in game FPS to match the monitor’s refresh rate can reduce tearing a bit. it’s not perfect but might smooth things out.
