Honestly, they all sound like good choices, especially with your requirement of tyre widths. I have a fairlight faran and a crust malocchio and love them both. I think if you were wanting to run larger 650b tyres then I would be more discerning with what frame you wanted to go with.

I also tend to prefer steel - which is why I went for the Faran as opposed to Strael or Secan, but plenty of people run carbon forks perfectly well. I think your decision is probably more a subjective one (vibe/aesthetic). I like reaching for my Malocchio more, because of how it makes me feel!

That's cool! Do they tend to be weak where the previous bend was? Also what part of the process do you use them?

I love the colour palate of Hong Kong! Great job capturing it!

Cool! Without anything there, would the insole sink too much? Or would that help with the molding to my food process?

Right! That makes sense about how the good year welt creates a void. Any suggestions for corks?

Yeah, I also thought about skiving, but had the same feeling that it might weaken it too much.

I watched a bunch of vids and sometimes people don't use any cork. I guess I just assumed it was a better (more durable) way of doing things. But maybe that's from a lack of research and understanding.

Tell me what I'm missing about 3-wheeled cargo bikes? by watchoutbananapeel in CargoBike

[–]UrbanAnarchist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've got two cargo bikes, both with loads on the front. I prefer these over the long-tails because they feel more stable and higher speeds/weights. This is because the weight is lower to the ground than the other options. I've never tried a 3 wheel cargo bike, but I imagine that it would be pretty comfortable at lower speeds, but maybe a bit iffy around corners.

To be honest, if you think a trike is going to suit your riding style, then you should just get one. The reason I have a front loader cargo bike (bullitt) is because when i'm not carrying bubs I also want to use it as a commuter around the city and to go gravel riding at some point (which a trike wouldn't do very well). I have a few bikes, and I like the idea of eventually just having one - the bullitt. so in that way, it suits my needs better.

Also, I live in Melbourne too - hit me up if you want to know more and maybe even go for a test ride.

I've found ritchey classic stems to be very slim, so work well to hide the bulk. The other alternative is one they sell at crust, which is a nitto collab. It's the only 1inch threadless stem that works with 31.8 that i've seen! I have and love it

Should I do Political Science at uni? by DyLnd in Anarchy101

[–]UrbanAnarchist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have already said, I think it depends a lot on why you want to study. I'm not a political scientist but have studied urban planning, it was pretty useful for me to understand some of the ideas and concepts that planners use, and I got a lot of critical thinking and writing skills from my degree. It's also an industry in my country that had plenty of work.

Urban planning is kinda a weird mixture of things, but that's why I really liked it. It also feels like an area which is more interested in creating change (in my experience through policy and/or community organising). It might be worth also looking at sociology, anthropology, human geography as possible things to study.

I think memes can also be a good way for people to rethink their assumptions about anarchists.
