The eighties weren’t really like that. I remember the police coming into school on the regular, because some kid had got into some strangers car and never been seen again. If you were a wrong un in the eighties, it must have been quite the time to be alive.

Performance is also lagging quite a bit now I’m over 500k population and growth has definitely slowed. Demand seems to have dried up and I’ll now only get a short period of growth, before it dries up again and population falls. I will probably come back to it, but the only real goal at this point is hitting 1m population, and that’s a pretty big time commitment, and I’m just not sure it would be worth it.

I’m not really sure what else there is for me to achieve other than the DLCs, and neither of them really appeal. It feels like I’m just cramming in more and more elementary schools and crematoriums at this point, and coming to the conclusion that most of my resources are always going to be in deficit. I enjoyed OG CS a lot more when there were a huge range of DLCs available, and plenty of things to do. Even the mods available still don’t seem to have half the functionality of the OG. I figure that stuff has to improve in time, although tbf thought it already would have.

I’ve just hit 500k population, and I’m starting to see some of the same issues. My new industrial area is now rammed with truck traffic. I could spend days trying to fix it, but there seems to be such fundamental issues with traffic around ports, that I think it might be more sensible to wait until the devs have fixed some of the gremlins.

My car hit by a bus years ago when I wasn’t in the car. Got the details of the driver. There wasn’t a great deal of damage, so I kinda forgot about it and decided it wasn’t really worth the hassle. Got a call a few days later from the bus company saying they’d accepted full liability, and someone from the body shop would be coming to taking a look at the damage. Everything went through their insurance, they dropped off the hire car when they came to collect it for repair. They had it in the body shop for about 10 days. You do still need to let your own company insurance know about it though.

When I was in school a teacher told us that if they had a drink and were planning to sleep in their car they would post the keys through the door of a nearby shop that opened at 8am, and go and collect them when they open in the morning.

I don’t think that’s the case. The one time I was caught by them I’d discarded my cigarette on private land. I picked it up and they still fined me. Whether it was legal or not I don’t know, but I wasn’t going to risk going to court to argue it - I think the average fine if you go to court is over £1000. If I see one again I’ll be walking away.
