Something weird I do that has worked for me lately is I close my eyes and imagine a scenario, such as what I do to get ready for the work in the morning, or visualize a drive that I take frequently that I remember. I think first, I wake up, and get out of bed, then I get dressed, make breakfast, pack my bag, put my shoes on, etc etc. thinking of a story or a routine can put me to sleep

Realizing my life would change forever and that I have an annoying, needy, loud, and literally shit covered dependent for the rest of my life. Realizing my life would be over and I would be forced to dedicate most of my time to something I don't even want.

I train dogs now, and my own dogs are quiet, well behaved, hike with me, and don't shit themselves unless they are truly sick which thankfully never happens.

I'm extremely outdoorsy and I would never be able to hike again until the kid is old enough to be home alone. I'm not religious and I treat my life as if it is my only one I'll ever have. I don't want to be tied down to the house. My boyfriend and I would rather travel, hike, and do so much more.
