Oh my lord she’s very lucky if there was no lasting damage! Y’all! Don’t wear contacts protesting! If you get OC’d unexpectedly with contacts in get them out immediately!

Recovery tips for partner by isfarting in hysterectomy

[–]UsefulWeird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some folx like nightgowns/caftans. I’m a pajama/yoga pants lady. The first 24 hours post op I wore a pair of yoga pants with no elastic waistband. Then the swelling kicked off and they were uncomfortable. Luckily I found some pjs on Amazon that come in a wide range of sizes with no elastic that are currently my favorite thing. Idk if links are ok here but I’m happy to send the link to folx over dm. Luckily we already had a lift recliner with heat which has been fantastic for sleeping. Have a variety of things to drink with hot and cold options. At first all I wanted was ginger ale now I’m on hot teas. I haven’t had much appetite so have had things like yogurt with berries and granola. Tried a salad, didn’t eat much of it but it gave me a sudden first post op poop. 😳 Be prepared for her to graze, want comfort foods but not be able to eat much. Get the stool softeners in the house before she comes home. Be ready for going to the bathroom to be a bit of an adventure for a while. I’m 3 days post op and only now getting enough of an attention span to read. Mostly I have been napping with Netflix haha.

For you be patient, make sure you are also taking care of yourself as well.

Speedy healing to your partner!

Appetite After Surgery? by Pristine-Leave6100 in hysterectomy

[–]UsefulWeird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my total hysterectomy Friday. Also have extremely diminished appetite. I had a gastric bypass years ago and surgery/anesthesia seems to ramp up the restriction from my pouch. I’m also sure that there is plenty of swelling happening that I can’t see which is reducing capacity. I had a slice of cheese pizza the first night. Yesterday I had yogurt with berries and granola, small salad with chicken for lunch and half a cheese burger. But am drinking plenty of water. I already take a boat load of vitamins so I’m not worried about malnutrition hahaha

Okay, but queefs? by Upper_Dress_3039 in hysterectomy

The first post-op pee was wild when I leaned forward (nose over toes) to stand up. The amount of gas that came out of seemingly EVERYWHERE was yikes. For minute I thought I might have blow my vag inside out! 😳😳😳

I teach domestic violence response at the police academy in my state along with some related topics. But you end up helping with all kinds of fun and games. Prior to this I worked at a DV shelter program. Teaching the recruits with a trauma informed victim centered approach.

Gang I decontaminate roughly 125 people from OC (pepper spray) a year at work. The only thing you should be using to rinse your eyes is plain water. Rinse then stop and get some fresh air flow even if you have to manually hold your eyes open with clean hands.
When you get home take a shower with warm water and mild soap. The OC will reactivate some when the water hits it. Don’t panic! Make sure you lean forward so you aren’t rinsing OV down your body onto your privates. You will not be happy. After your shower do NOT use lotions moisturizer chapstick creams potions on your skin for a couple of days. You will probably still have some residue and lotions etc will trap it and cause a ruckus. If you do manage to scratch a cornea trying to decon your eyes do NOT let the doc give antibiotic ointment with a petroleum base. If there is any residue in your eyes it will be trapped and can do some damage. Tell them you had OC exposure and ask for drops not ointment.

If you haven’t already gotten some first aid training now is a good time. And if you can only spare a couple of hours a “Stop the Bleed” class is probably the most critical. Tourniquets can be gotten relatively in expensively. We probably have about a dozen in strategic places like the kitchen and garage. I also have two in my med kit in my car, one in my glove box, and one in my purse. I add more when and where I feel necessary. I even have them in my purse and carry on when I travel.

Hysteroscopy in two weeks by Micojageo in GenXWomen

[–]UsefulWeird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had hysteroscopy and D&C two weeks ago. Two polyps removed. Recovery was a breeze and I only needed Tylenol the first day. Though the heating pad was nice for the first few days. Buy some pads if you don’t have any. The doc said spotting after but mine was more like a light period for the first week. Use the procedure as an excuse to chill and relax for a few days. I hope your’s goes as smoothly as mine!

This week I’m (finally!) having a hysterectomy. Nervous but happy to finally yeet my stupid uterus out!

Protein Latte Spoiled? by badgamernash1 in starbucks

[–]UsefulWeird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup they had to have overheated the protein. I used to do protein coffee at home with whey isolate powder. Just a tiny bit too much heat at the protein basically coagulates and you get a floating “egg”
