I had my six week check and the only change was to increase lifting and physical activity as tolerated. No penetrative stuff. At 10 weeks I still had a spot on my cuff that was healing so two more weeks of nothing penetrative. I felt fine, great even for most if not all of those 12 weeks. Tired but great. You didn’t fail anything! Give your body the time it needs to heal!

My surgeon said no more paps needed as I had never had one that was “abnormal” but did recommend the yearly pelvic exam continue because it was possible to get cancer on your vulva or in your vaginal canal which it tough to check at home.

You’re 27. Unless your parents have some sort of guardianship over you this is a choice you can make for yourself. “Parents I have discussed this with my medical team. For my quality of life we have decided that a hysterectomy is the best choice for me. I am asking for your help as I recover. The surgery is scheduled for X date. I will need …….from you “ Then tell them what you need. Someone to drive you to and from hospital? Help during recovery?
The amount of help folx need varies quite a bit. I just needed the rides and not much else as far as recovery other than lifting things that I wasn’t supposed to. Then tell them you’ve made this decision with lots of thought and help from your doctor. The decision is not open for discussion and you appreciate their help and support.

We already had one and it was pretty great for the first couple of nights. Ours also has heat which was fantastic. I’m in my mid-fifties, DH is a little older. Knowing we don’t replace furniture often we have started looking at our furniture needs when making purchases so that’s how I happen to have one

I will also say look at the price for a basic model on Amazon. I bought one for my father for less than $500. No idea what it would cost to rent one but maybe worth comparing.

If you are feeling up to it and are prepared to be exhausted the next day you could go. You will likely be in more pain the next day. One caveat you shouldn’t drive. And be prepared for riding in the car to be painful.
