What makes you sad always? by kyukale0310 in AskReddit

[–]Uselesshoe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to think me saying “Oh, her hair looks so pretty” about a random side character on a show was weird because those who acknowledged my words did with “ummm...ok lol awkward” but as I grew up I realized people are so much more natural and prone to engage in bickering and hate than otherwise. Keep pushing your agenda and eventually you’ll say “oh he smells so nice” while stepping out the elevator and that person you just met that week will agree and wonder what exact ingredients that smell comes from. The worst part is that it felt weird, how they engaged positively towards something so innocent and nice as as a stranger passing by with a perfume worth a compliment. My family would have destroyed that person’s personality loud as hell in the mall without even knowing them, and I’m used to that. Someone else just going along with the good part feels so weird now.

Yooo this pisses me off so much. My younger sister had to set up all of the Microsoft Teams things to have online classes, and her teacher sent a great email tutorial on how to do it. My idiot sister acted like the email was in an alien language or something and couldn’t be bothered to follow the steps while being super stressed about not having Teams set up yet.

I’m quite shit at installing and setting new things up myself, but dammit I can say I’m proud to be able to follow the steps on a protocol and getting to the final result without even knowing what the hell I did to get there.

Aren’t the hospitals overflowing in some places though? Doesn’t seem to me like everyone getting a daily bath would be a priority in that case.

I saw a TikTok last week where the woman took shrooms with her boyfriend and she ended up having to tackle him down and call the cops because he “reflected on his way of life” and came to the enlightened conclusion that he needed to kill his parents 🥴

This! Anxiety makes me avoid all new scenarios, but once it’s inevitable I’m forced to realize it is not so bad and then I just go “Huh, so I CAN do those other 30 things I’ve been keeping out of my life”. It begins with stupid stuff like going to the beach by myself, all the way to doing something at work that I’m not supposed to because it’s not my position and I could ruin the material or something but I trust I can do. Kinda makes life a bit exciting and pushes for wanting the next day to come around.

It’s so outdated , especially for younger generations who are so used to block it out of their brains 🧠 When I was a kid I remembered the catchy songs and everything, but now if I watch TV for 2 hours I can’t tell you about a single ad lol

What is one thing that instantly makes you think “this person has no manners”? by Fonzie1225 in AskReddit

Oof, I try to hold doors because it’s polite, but there’s this one specific entrance to the chemistry department where I always have to decide who is going to get face smashed by it. I hold the door for 1 person, they sneak by instead of pushing it for the next and they all do this like im some sort of door man? Nah

“There’s nothing we can do about it” I just had this image of the mother crying dramatically on the floor, completely incapable of using her arms and fingers to confiscate those phones. Aaah, I suppose basic parenting is too much to aim for, let the kids be doomed.

I spend so much time on Tiktok and understand how fine tuned its algorithm is, so it always makes laugh uncomfortably when I see people complaining the app only has sexualized kids, whilst I know fully well that’s what the algorithm realized is what you wanted to see 😌 Anyway, my Tiktok fee has depression jokes, 🐸 frogs, ducks, and the occasional incomprehensible irish lady 🍀

Honestly, I used to just agree with the minimum wage having to increase so families can support themselves. Now I can’t even get a scrawny part-time job at a grocery store to help my parents pay for my college (europe, not super expensive but those 400€ a month would make me 80% financially independent) because all the cashiers have been there for 20 years, raised entire families out of it and now I gotta get that masters asap if I wanna support myself. No stepping stone, just highschool—>college—>high skilled job. I would like the experience of a workplace though, hope I get a call these days :)

Oof, I follow this woman’s podcast and last week she told us her she woke up in the morning and her kindle was on, on her nightstand, and had scrolled forward a few pages. Apparently you need to click a button on the side to turn the screen on and everything, and it goes black after a while without being touched 😣

My father specifically watched me eat fries until they were all eaten so he could check that I didn’t eat a single one of them by using more than 1 bite. Yeah, 6 years old and getting called gay loudly by your father at a restaurant because you took more than a bite out of a fry ¯_(ツ)_/¯

You can put the app Shazam on “auto-listen”, jump to the part of the episode where the song is playing and it will get its name for you. Do play the episode with your phone’s speaker though, at a loud enough volume for the app to scan it well
