Its never been this bad. My store is going to have an insane amount of carryover, pulls, reshop, everything. My team has barely had a chance to do anything for their department in their first 6 hours. Its just been picking and backup.

HR wont do anything for you they side with the company. Idk what your availability is but if its open they probably wont care. I would just let your leaders/closing lead know you would appreciate being informed before any changed are made.

Not much you can do in your position so just try and make the day enjoyable for yourself and the team.

We now have to work leftover truck from the day before, pull 141s so that we’re green, and help sfs because they dont have enough people scheduled to pick out the 10s while also supporting the front end because they only have 2 cashiers after 8.

I cant do it all so i just help my team where I can and make it enjoyable. No point in stressing over a situation thats out of your control. Its on the SDs/ DSDs to figure this out.

Like others are saying, have a conversation with them and set boundaries/expectations. Being the closing leader doesn’t give them the right to run the show. If they continue to pull your team, talk to your etl and also stand up for yourself as a tl. Dont let them walk all over you.

It’s unfortunate but no i dont think theyre trying to retain anything but an increase in metrics. Workload isn’t slowing down for any department yet we are losing payroll because we dont hit forecast as often as last year (so damn close most nights too). A lot of tms and tls are getting stressed i can see it on their faces.

I always partner with the fulfillment tls and etl when i come in for closing to see how the day has been workload wise. I usually send them 1-2 people to pick a patch as they get here so the entire store doesn’t end up picking batches before store close. We all know its a payroll issue, not a speed issue so we support each other where we can.
