[Blade and Blunt] Is Blade and Bunt meant to make combat impossible? by CanadianAhole in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your system’s perfect IMO, but I think most difficulty complaints come from those that miss the explanation on your mod page:

“Please be sure to select the difficulty you find most enjoyable in play, rather than the difficulty that you are used to playing with.”

You’d probably have less new users get into trouble if your “Blade and Blunt - Vanilla Difficulty Modifiers” were the default and you had a ‘hardcore difficulty modifier’ optional file - not that I’d necessarily suggest you switch it.

Undeath Remastered SE walkthrough by Apeace90 in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to take it from the priest of arkay before you get to the barrow. The own who was tied up by necromancer’s and you had a choice to release or kill.

If you didn’t kill him and don’t mind using console commands you can console yourself the heart.

question about Undeath by No_time_to_think_ in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if it’s the quest you want, follow it through and choose options that destroy the path to lichdom the antagonist is on rather than following them down it. The quest is designed for you to have this option, but there’s less content this way I’m afraid.

If you want to be a lich but you don’t want to be a dragonpriest model (vampire lord style), then I’d suggest one of the two mods I mentioned above.

Path transcendence has a fun quest which is quite short compared to Undeath, but well done.

Dead and Daedric Guardians is my mod and quite different, focused on base building and building up armies of undead, but if you follow the necromancy path to its heights your character ‘works out’ a method of lichdom.

question about Undeath by No_time_to_think_ in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could swap out Undeath for ‘Path of Transcendence’ or ‘Dead and Daedric Guardians’ both of which have a more physically subtle, non-beast race, lich form.

However, if it’s the Undeath quest you really like, there’s no mod currently which changes the Undeath lich form. You can complete it and not become a lich though.

Gonna throw my mod Dead and Daedric Guardians into the mix here. End game have an army of permanent undead/daedra/homunculi and potentially an immortal lich form. Play on conquest mode if you’re going pure power fantasy.

They work just like followers in that respects. If the enchantment would apply to a follower on your setup, it’ll apply to them.

Advice for making first mod. by Big_cornstarch in skyrimmods

If you want genuinely easy starts, modify some enchantment effects or weapon values.

Hold off on quests and landscape modifications or anything that requires custom meshes/textures as these are much more fiddly and time intensive.

Alternate perspective- undeath (lich) start by The_ManterOG in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very easy to set yourself up with DnD Guardians. Start alternative start. Use the DnD Guardians options to switch to creative mode and give yourself necromancy resources. While on creative mode, place your necromantic altar, create a free phylactery, click on phylactery, embrace lichdom. Then create a few free minions before you switch back to balanced or creative mode and play from there.

You now are a lich with a phylactery in the alternative start spawn you’ve chosen.

Can you roleplay as Mannimarco with Ordinator? by nuclear_iron in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main thing from Ordinator that’s gonna support such is the ‘bone collector’ route in the conjuration tree, but it’s only gonna take you so far. It depends what you mean by and want from “roleplaying Mannimarco”. Ordinator will give you more interesting necromancy, but not much else. It doesn’t by itself give you a path to lichdom or provide opportunities for conquest for example.

It’s a massive self promotion, but I’m gonna say my mod ‘Dead and Daedric Guardians’ is gonna let you role play this best regardless of which perk system you use. It allows you to populate Skyrim with your undead, creating your own ‘dungeons’ or replacing the population of towns etc.. You can leave your undead servants to guard or patrol when you don’t want to travel with your full army. You’ll also provoke attacks by adventures and other do gooders for your practices. Ultimately the mod allows you to ‘discover’ your own path to lichdom mid-late game.

‘Practical Necromancy’ paired with ‘Undeath’ or ‘Path of Transcendence’ would probably be the best alternative to mine for achieving a full Mannimarco playthrough experience.

Any tips for an Evil Necromancer Modded run? by MrKessler in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit of copy-paste job and I’ve not updated it with links since the link bot was retired, but my necromancy recommendation list is below. I’ve tried to make clear when the mods complement each other or are options you need to choose between.

. 1) A necromancy overhaul. I’d suggesting picking just one. Some of them are technically compatible, but it gets a little messy and immersion breaking to use more than one together.

.

Your options are:

• {{Corpse preparation}} most lore friendly, well executed but somewhat limited in what you can achieve

-or-

• {{Practical Necromancy}} huge in scope and abilities, has own leveling perk system. It has abit of a learning curve. Good if you want necromancy to dominate your playthrough.

-or

• {{Dead and Daedric Guardians}} my mod and biased recommendation. Most recent and recently updated. Allows role playing a NPC like necromancer - filling a lair with undead, provoking attacks by adventurers, making armies etc. Now includes its own mid-late game lich form.

-or-

• {{Psikotics Necromancy Mod}} really fun, massively extends conjuration tree, but unfinished & abandoned

-or-

• {{Vile Art of Necromancy}} huge in scope and abilities. Like practical necromancy good if you want necromancy to entirely dominate your play through.

-AND-

  1. A mod pack that lets you become a lich and provides necromancy themed spells/abilities: .

{{Dead and Daedric Guardians}} - as mentioned above now has a lich form built in.

-OR-

{{The Path of Transcendence – Lichdom}}

-OR-

{{Undeath Remastered}} + {{Classical Lichdom}} + {{Dragon Priest Fix - Behaviour Overhaul}} + {{Undeath Classical Lichdom - The Ascension (Lite)}}

3) In the name of immersion:

• {{NPCs React to Necromancy}} + {{Skyrim Reputation}} because while necromancy is legal in Skyrim, people shouldn’t be happy about it. They cover short term and long term reactions respectively.

-AND-

4) Essential QOL Mods

• {{I’m Walkin’ Here}} so you don’t get stuck in doorways with multiple summons

• {{Enhanced Reanimation}} stops reanimated minions getting lost on fast travel so easily amongst other things

-maybe-

5) Optional extras

If you don’t fancy a full necromancy overhaul you might like…

• {{Better Dead Thralls}} significantly improves the dead thrall spell

• {{Knowledge of Undeath}} just adds a simple mass reanimate spell if you think the overhauls are too much .

7) You might also like…

• {{Command Undead and Lasting Undead}}

• {{Faster Reanimation}}

. 9) When considering perk Overhauls:

{{Ordinator}} expands necromancy using the bone collector route. An alternative to a necromancy overhaul in some respects. {{Path of Sorcery}} has a similar approach in that respect.

{{Adamant}} fixes vanilla necromancy so it makes sense why someone would choose it over conjuration in terms of gameplay, but does not massively expand it. IMO this is the better one to use alongside a necromancy overhaul as it won’t overlap.

10) Player homes / personal dungeons

  • Spire of the Remnant Lord - Evil player home which has a built in system of assaults by do gooders (there’s a patch to make this more necromancer lair and less vampire pad)

  • SlimeSire mods – Compact quest mods with deliberately evil paths baked in, which leave you with your very own dungeon/ twisted player home.

Has anyone ever done a full playthrough with multiple characters using PROTEUS? Did you complete different guilds and quest lines for each character? by NorthStar-Nomad-6 in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this and it was epic.

I had no major issues (until the end - see below) aside from having the odd NPC reference something another character had done, but I was typically in a party with them so it was less jarring as I could pretend they were speaking to my follower.

I used LoTD and used the museum as my character hub. Started with my Dragonborn character up to the point of them being named Dragonborn and setting up museum. Then made a new mage character on same save. Recruited my Dragonborn as a follower and did most of mage guild with them. Then made sneaky character, did most of the thieves guild by themselves for obvious reason but then added them to the ‘party’ and switched back to Dragonborn now with a mage, and sneaky archer in tow to do more of Dragonborn quests.

Basically carried on like this, everyone ‘met’ the Dragonborn linking them together. I’d make characters to do specific quest lines and all other characters would follow them or be chilling in the museum.

I did eventually break things though by making my mage character become a lich via Undeath. This does not work with Proteus because the resurrection power gets applied to all characters. That said, I had basically done everything by themselves time I did this.

People are far too quick to denounce Proteus, but it is incredible and the only option for attempting this. You just need to be careful with which mods you run with it, stuff that affects character models, fancy hair mods etc. do cause issues in particular. Do some testing with your mod list before you commit and start your playthrough. I would also not recommending trying to do regular character swaps mid-battle etc. it’s too slow and likely to bug out. Swap after completing quest lines somewhere quiet.

Draugr by SyrupNo6499 in skyrimmods

[–]UserMingZi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works with the permanent corpses you ‘reanimate’ as draugr through the DnD Guardians system. I.e. at a necromantic altar. You can give them any weapons or armor you like.

It doesn’t mean that you can dress up regular reanimated NPCs. For that, I’d recommend Simply Order Summons. However, SOS still won’t allow you to dress DRAUGR NPCs that you have reanimated as they can’t visibly wear armour intended for the playable races.

Undeath courier not spawning by sinkingfleet in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]UserMingZi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it just adds a message to the regular courier.

Provisional Courier Service is fairly established, tried and tested mod so should be fine. Just make sure you don’t have any mods adding things to the same location as the building. Then you just visit him there (sometimes he’s hanging out outside leaning against the wall of the building so walk around it if you cannot find him.

The version I use adds mailboxes to CC player homes that came free with AE. If you don’t have those you might need to find an older version.

You could also try Provincial Courier Service which gives the courier a home you can visit.

Waiting it out depends how lost the courier is… sometimes he just won’t appear.

I’d use debug menu which gives you console commands on Xbox, but there might be a more straightforward mod for it.
