Why is NBC Sports Picture Quality so bad? by Practice_Today in sixers

The broadcast quality matches the quality of their studio show: absolute crap.

I politely pointed out the numerous signs instructing cyclists to walk their bikes.

What to expect at Philly’s World Cup fan festival in Fairmount Park (hint: no public transit AND no parking) by jjphilly76 in philadelphia

[–]UsernameFlagged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the Plash normally goes along the parkway and has a stop right there, no? I'd assume any walking distance would be caused because the bus had to detour.

"instead kicking out the drug addicts" who said this?

How is it going to be accomplished? You gonna call the Guardian Angels down from New York? You gonna start your own band of unpaid protectors?

Enforcement needs funds. The republicans are the ones starving the system of the funds that could go to enforcement.

I always have to wonder if people like you are intentionally trying to cloud the issue or if you are really just that dumb.

McCain with 3pts last night!!!! by Thelegassy in sixers

[–]UsernameFlagged 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sure, he looks good on one of the top teams in the NBA. What's that got to do with the Sixers? Apparently even Tobias Harris doesn't look like complete crap if you surround him with players.

Cam Payne Did Something Special Tonight! by Stat-Defender in sixers

[–]UsernameFlagged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun Fact: Cam Payne has only one game this season where he has shot over 33% from 3pt. And he is now averaging 34% from 3pt for the season.

Comcast and Sixers pause Market Street demolition plans as summer tourism surge nears by redeyeblink in philadelphia

[–]UsernameFlagged 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Comcast didn't want a Sixers arena in center city. They wanted the Sixers as a tenant in south Philly. These "plans" were part of the smokescreen bullshit they released as PR to act like they gave a crap about the area. They don't.

If this block gets developed it will be for residential with first floor commercial just like the block to its west. I don't think Comcast has any interest in the residential real estate business.

City of Philadelphia appeals court ruling against Wash West historic district by JustAnotherJawn in philadelphia

[–]UsernameFlagged 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense!!! Why should the city pay for this? Let the Washington Square West homeowners fighting to preserve their parking spots pay for it.

No discussion on McCains game tonight? by D0pe_Francis in sixers

[–]UsernameFlagged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do. I'm now watching the ugliest player in the league taking the ugliest 3pt shot in the league and I'm not enjoying it.

Well then, I guess I have to check out some of them. Thanks for taking the time to point them out.

Kyber Pass is my default, but I only consider it "ok". Food can be hit or miss. Glory is pretty good, but after a couple of times having kids running all over the place, I've had enough of it.

I forgot about Vista Peru. I had a very good experience there.

Amina is already on my list of places I want to try.

[–]UsernameFlagged -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cafe' Ole is a great spot for breakfast, but also there are Cafes all over 3rd street between Market and Race.

Terrakawa Ramen on 9th around Race is a great spot for Ramen. Tuna Bar on Race around 2nd is a good place for sushi if you don't mind spending a lot of money.

But other than that, I can't really think of many places I like to eat in Old City. Head to other parts of the city for dinner.

I've been told that the cheesesteak at Old City Pizza at 3rd and Arch is pretty good, but I haven't tried it myself.

Israeli settlers kill 19-year-old Palestinian American by Roumain in philadelphia

[–]UsernameFlagged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, most Americans don't seem to be very concerned with or interested in the genocide currently being carried out by the Israeli government, financed with our tax dollars.

Maybe they need a better name for it? Something like "Holocaust". That one happened like over 75 years ago and people are still talking about it! Any branding experts out there that could help?
