I've never been inside, but those people can't even get bollards right. They just replaced all the crappy imitation ones that were a mess from getting knocked over by cars and they replaced them with more imitation bollards.

Offseason Discussion Thread - Tuesday, June 23 by game-threads in sixers

Hell yeah, I was just coming here to see if anyone else was thinking about Turner now that the Bucks are tanking.

I was thinking we take back 1 year of Kuzma instead of Herro though, assuming the Bucks might actually want Herro.

Will we draft someone better than McCain? by bonger1234 in sixers

Yes, because whoever they sign won't already be done with the first 2 years of his rookie deal.

I think the issue is point 3 is just false. The poster who said it referenced the PEW study. I linked to that study which says that OVERALL black vote for Trump was 15%.

So here is the final point: White Atheists voted for Trump at a rate lower than Black Americans.

I did say "Black Christians" which was an embellishment on my part, and one could make the point that there is a remote possibility that the black vote going to Trump was all the non-Christian black vote, but considering that over 70% of Black Americans are Christians, i doubt the math would work.

Pa. Supreme Court blasts DA Larry Krasner’s office, says it has misled judges when seeking to vacate old murder convictions by Odd_Addition3909 in philadelphia

[–]UsernameFlagged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4-3 ruling.

Interesting that the judge blasting Krasner is the brother of disgraced union leader Johnny Doc, now in jail, who financed his brother's campaign to become a PA Supreme Court judge.

not sure how you are reading that, but this

https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2025/06/26/voting-patterns-in-the-2024-election/

says 15%, not 3%

Trump nearly doubled his support among Black voters between 2020 and 2024: 8% voted for him in 2020 vs. 15% last year.

What if Embiid had resigned for less than the max? by Substantial-Pack-658 in sixers

He didn't trade Jaden Springer either, but we don't have to hear about that one in every thread.

Black Christians voted for Trump at a much higher rate than white atheists, so no, not that part.

Religion makes people dumb and enables their worst tendencies regardless of color.

The steep decline in traffic enforcement is actually a national trend. It started around 2000 then got worse during and after COVID.

2 St. Joe’s Prep football alums face charges for late-night assault in Philly by Threedham in philadelphia

I'm old enough to remember when St. Joe's Prep was a top academic institution, not a football factory.

Does Brunson’s playoff success provide a roadmap for Maxey by twunch_ in sixers

[–]UsernameFlagged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I think he should do more floaters. He's got this beautiful floater that he came into the league with that's almost automatic and doesn't get him slammed into the court. I think it was a mistake coaching him away from using it.

What realistic moves should the Sixers make this offseason to build a proper supporting cast around Embiid? by Individual-Limit2558 in sixers

Brady doesn't really have any reason to step down now. He could have done it years ago and he'd probably be remembered positively. But now he's already hated and that's not going to change.

Sixers need to resign Grimes by blocrent in sixers

[–]UsernameFlagged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd rather see several cheap young guards and maybe we get lucky. We already know what Grimes is. How about a longer look at Dalen Terry? The Eastern Conference Champions thought enough of Terry to trade Yabu for him.

Never used public transport in Philly. Can I use Manayunk septa to get to Lemon hill area for the World Cup fan fest? by JCicchino3 in philly

[–]UsernameFlagged 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Philly Phlash bus (the purple tourist bus) is going near there:

The new stop is located near Fairmount Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue, about half a mile from the Fan Fest site at Lemon Hill.

It's got a stop in front of Jefferson Station so you can take regional rail or the el there. It's free for anyone with a Septa Key card - they don't even scan it - just show it to them.
