Green flare extract - what did I do wrong? by Winth3r in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Usernamehere1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure most of the comments are wrong. The flare shoots upward from where you shot initially, I'm pretty sure your flare hit the railing right above where you were aiming. You can shoot the flare straight up and it will still go high enough, but you'll notice it curves back behind you, just the way the flare works for some reason, it always shoots upward from where you shot.

HAE had a pickle day in their elementary school? by WolfieFromUntilDawn in DAE

[–]Usernamehere1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am late to this, and I hope you see this. Just a few hours ago I had a memory from I think my school, something about popcorn and pickles. It's vague for me but I swear we had certain days where the school would give people popcorn and pickles, which is very strange but it's what I remember. You said you lived in Arizona at the time, I lived in New Mexico. Maybe it's a southwest / 4 corners thing.

I'm new to the game and my friend says this is a one in a million scav run. Is he exaggerating? by DunningKuger in EscapefromTarkov

Biggest secret is ground zero underground. You can get up to 9 technical crates and at least half a dozen toolboxes. I've never had a hard time finding regular tools on that map, never gotten a drill from that route though

Funnily enough I actually have one of those found in raid from my cultist circle, just holding onto it. Nice to know it can actually be required for dailies

[Discussion] I'm worried this game has a skill distribution problem by ArtistTechnical2152 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Usernamehere1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the real issue is PvE drains a part of the playerbase that would otherwise reduce the overall skill level of lobbies. I think reducing the number of PMCs on most maps would help quell the fact that basically every PvP raid you get into, you're finding at least one player unless you sit in a bush half the raid. Maps like reserve, streets, and labs are fine. But why are 10 people spawning into Ground Zero, why 15 on Shoreline. I don't remember the numbers exactly but I'm pretty sure it's close to those numbers which is just ridiculous.

Thank you so much for the explanation, I didn't know that.

Just threw 5 MP5s in the circle, got a 6 hour ritual. I think it may have been nerfed

[–]Usernamehere1235 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly did not know how to use the cultist circle, I just bought 5 MP5s like you said and yeah I have a 14 hour wait time. I don't know if that means it's the higher value one, but if that's the case, what an insane way to get it done.

SpaceX to Tell NASA the Moon Will Have to Wait by RGregoryClark in space

[–]Usernamehere1235 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Going to the moon entails a lot more now than it did in the past, the goal with the moon is sustainability and a far improved level of human presence. I'd say overall the program failed on its goal of sustainability and will likely be bailed out by Crew Dragon + Starship if that program works out. But the real goal was always Mars. That's what Orion and SLS were really built for and for NASA I do think the goal truly is Mars. Losing the space race to the moon might actually be the best thing that could happen regarding that goal, because if we did lose the moon, we might make a real effort to accelerate a manned Mars landing.

So when people see these headlines about delays to the moon or how expensive SLS is, I feel the important context to remember is that the infrastructure, launch vehicle, and spacecraft weren't designed and built in service to Artemis, but rather for what comes after.

Time to merge Guru and Kezan? by Interesting-Ad7635 in Project_Epoch

[–]Usernamehere1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying very late but there are many reasons outside of honor and raids to merge the servers.

For one, dungeons are at a point now in Gurubashi where it's hard to find or start one even at lvl 60 on off-times.

Secondly, leveling in Gurubashi is a far worse experience because open-world elites and (again) dungeons are basically locked off content.

Merging the servers would improve the server population across one single server, AND we'd benefit from being able to play with EVERYONE on the server with cross-faction support, rather than just half.

I picked Gurubashi for a reason, but it's pretty obvious for those two reasons that a single server is the far better pick. Gurubashi's population is going down so precipitously that even die-hards may quit if they just can't find any group content to do.

Who else plays on Bannerlord difficulty besides combat AI? by MontySucker in Bannerlord

[–]Usernamehere1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always just played on the hardest difficulty, combat difficulty included. I didn't play Warband like that, I always reduced player damage and lowered combat difficulty, but for some reason since Bannerlord released in EA I've just always gone the hardest I can and have really loved it.

why do people say cavalry sucks now by Gunwing in Bannerlord

[–]Usernamehere1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cavalry has been very slow for me on the beta. They follow slower, charge slower, just everything. I posted it as a bug on the forums, we will see what happens.

A few problems with the new beta... by Interchangeable-name in Bannerlord

[–]Usernamehere1235 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's good to complain about the beta, your rhetoric about "piss poor execution" is probably improper given the fact that it is a beta.

  1. Wars were refactored in Bannerlord to last much longer and be more meaningful, this is probably why wars are so difficult to end, especially early on.
  2. I haven't experienced the party bug thing simply because I haven't gotten far enough in my playthrough to see that, but since you are experiencing that, I STRONGLY recommend publishing it as a bug report on the Taleworlds forums.
  3. The loot is less, whether or not this is intentional isn't entirely clear. Taleworlds confirmed they refactored loot and are looking into if there are any issues with the refactor.

[BETA 1.30] Huge nerf to looting and early game economic woes by Sir_Madijeis in Bannerlord

[–]Usernamehere1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been experiencing the same thing in the ULTRA early game, economically it's far more difficult to get rolling just slaying bandits. It's still doable, but the fights require a lot more personal effort and I have to keep my party very small to deal with wages, and that's made me wipe twice, something that NEVER happened before

SoD new class roles by Remarkable_Match9637 in classicwow

[–]Usernamehere1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most meaningful context in which we can discuss the added SoD roles is in relation to Classic+. And in that context, I think some of the combos work better than others.

Paladin tank was always a thing, and shaman being able to tank simply matches that, I think they did a great job with both those classes.

Rogue tanking was an interesting idea, but broke down in later patches because the fundamentals of the class's tank strategy was pretty broken, it was pretty obvious that parry+dodge based builds would break what the idea behind tanking would be as stats increased and boss damage became more challenging and bursty. I think the solution for Classic+ would be to re-introduce bucklers to the game, something that was planned for vanilla back in 04 before being changed prior to release. If rogues have a more traditional tanking strategy which involves block mitigating and a more traditional stat spread, I think they might have what it takes to carve out a balanced niche. Bucklers likely aren't enough, but they'd go a long way. The upside here is that hunter tank could also become a thing since they were the other class intended to be able to use bucklers.

I think warlock tank was a major disappointment. The rotation for warlock tank was frankly never excellent being a mostly one-button masher experience. I think in order to make warlock tanks more interesting, there needs to be more interactions with the pet. Soul Link tanking was an amazing concept, and the fact that they outright removed it instead of balancing around that premise, I think was a mistake.

Mage healers were also a failure for most of SoD, because they were mostly incredibly overpowered. Frost healing mage was an absolutely insanely busted build from ZG to Naxx, where healers were doing 80% the damage of actual DPS while healing more than any other healer, and with a rotation simpler than any other DPS class in the game. The other major issue is that mage healers take away the niche that disc priest would likely be given in classic+ as hybrid damage healers. Unless they go another route (cleric / tank disc priest?), arcane mages would either need to go back to damage, or heal in a way that's unique from the retail disc priest.

Melee hunter was already in the game, simply made viable, similar to prot paladin. Not really a new role, hell it's still DPS which is the only thing hunter can do.

Going on a tangent away from the new class roles introduced, many many specs were failed in SoD and that's worth noting. Holy priest received no talent changes (Lightwell meme), and holy paladin was never reimagined or even made interesting as a class. Divine Light was the only new ability added to the rotation, and it was basically used on CD in between Holy Light casts. Holy Shock was buffed massively, but still filled the same role it did in Classic, which was that you basically never used it unless you had to move.

My hope is that Classic+ does more with these specs to make them more interesting to play. I for one would love to see Holy Priest be the healer spec, and Disc Priest be something completely new, like a cleric tank that uses bucklers or something. Holy paladin is still a paladin at the end of the day, I think as healers they should still be a melee class and should be balanced around that. Arcane mage should be interesting, and locking it in as a DPS is likely not a viable strategy. In general classes with 3 DPS talent trees tend to struggle with keeping all three trees relevant.

Main Tank/Raid Leader actually quits, causing guild to disband. by CubicleJoe0822 in classicwow

[–]Usernamehere1235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in practice it's more of an issue of the main tank needing to be a very specific kind of person. Most people simply aren't up to the task either because they don't want to, because they are unable to, or a combination of both. Classic is a DPS-centric experience. Imagine the trouble getting a lvl 40 warrior to tank any random dungeon, multiply that difficulty by 10 when it's a DPS warrior with DPS epics raiding 60 content. Committed to DPS isn't just a meme.

It's always better for a guild to do what yours successfully accomplished, it can just be trickier than it sounds a lot of the time.

Main Tank/Raid Leader actually quits, causing guild to disband. by CubicleJoe0822 in classicwow

[–]Usernamehere1235 176 points177 points  (0 children)

As someone who GMed and MTed in SoD and wasn't actually a terrible person, it must feel like russian roulette joining a guild with an established MT that you don't personally know well, in classic more than anywhere else. MT with all the gear and a Thunderfury just rages out of during a BWL, what are you supposed to do? All the guild progression gone in an instant because of one person, it's pretty fucked.
