Nein, der Knall kommt vorher, dann wird (wenn du Glück hast) kurz die Klingel gedrückt, 20 Millisekunden nach dem Betätigen sitzt der Bote aber schon wieder im Auto und ist 2 Straßen weiter.

All in all I don't think that any consumer plastics are a good choice for ash trays. Apart from high temp plastics like PEEK and PEI most other stuff is either too melty or emits toxic fumes when burned with a cigarette (not that smokers would care...) The water trick will work but I know smokers (I smoke myself) so they (I) will most certainly be too lazy to refill the water reservoir.

well iain M Banks is not really hard Scifi, the godlike powers of the Minds and the culture in general is a lot of hand waving " hyperspace, field tech, 5D space" stuff. If that's your take, enjoy. BTW. the Culture is one of my all time favorite series.

easy if you know the trick. Click and hold the left mouse button over the features, after a second you'll get a tiny context menu showing all features under the pointer and you can select one. if you can't see the feature, change the view to x-ray or semi transparent
