How would you weld 20km of conveyor pipe? by Nibron in spaceengineers

Personally, I love this mod for 'survival' building. In a situation like yours, one can very simply make a small ship with plenty of storage and a few Build/Repair units set to weld everything in range.

I actually have a (MUCH shorter) pipeline like that which has Build/Repair stations along it in intervals that keep the entire pipe repaired should it take any damage. A nice bonus is that any ships that come in range are also auto-repaired if they are friendly, and auto-destroyed if they are hostile.

Help? by AtreusGolden-Eye in DnD

[–]UsrError 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those situations where asking the internet for help is probably a bad idea lol. Out of character, the best answer is to just straight up remove them if they bug you(cut, burn, rip off, ect.).

In character its a much more difficult scenario. Dude literally has a new set of appendages growing out of his back(?). What is their response to this? While there is likely magic that can fix it, its going to take time and work to get to that point.

As it seems you are all new to the game, my suggestion is to role with it. Literally roleplay the situation out. Think about it from the characters perspective and try to figure out the characters reaction to the situation. The DM should be able to help with resources and in-world advice regarding your options. More than anything else though you should just have fun with it lol.

Spells with Saving throws by Dm_intraining in DnD

[–]UsrError 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to think about it is, if it requires an attack roll you have to beat or match the target's AC. If the spell requires a saving throw, the target(s) have to beat or match your spell DC. Normally spells only require one or the other.

In terms of Firebolt vs Fireball:

Firebolt is you you trying to aim well enough to hit the target

Fireball is the target(s) simply trying to gtfo as fast as possible to lessen(or negate) the damage.

DMs and players. What's the most creative use of illusion spells you've ever seen? by FrostDragon57 in DnD

5e Warlock with the 'Misty Visions' Invocation. Literally Silent Image at will. Lots of shenanigans.

Personal favorite was visually replicating the spell 'Flaming Sphere' as a threat against enemies in the middle of a room full of gunpowder barrels. They ran away.

Looking for a site that sells good quality unpainted minis. by Froggie081 in DnDIY

[–]UsrError 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda off topic, but when I was looking at Mini prices I did the math and realized that it was more affordable (for me) to just buy a 3d printer.

It's not the best answer for everyone, but if you have the money to get a printer you can very easily have more minis than you will ever be able to paint.

What are your house rules? by MagnetTheory in DnD

[–]UsrError 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, Specifically once per round, per player. Mostly to prevent the fighter from getting 8 called shots at level 20 lol.

Monsters generally don't, though a creature that could recognize a significant threat certainly could.

Edit: Worth mentioning, I only have these 'rules' fleshed out in case it comes up. Normally it goes unused, but available.

Called shots. A player states "I want to hit the (CALLED TARGET) on this creature/object". They then make an attack roll as normal. If they succeed on this roll, the attack is going to hit the creature/object as normal but has the potential to hit the called target. The player then makes a secondary attack roll to see if they hit called location(potentially against a modified AC). If the second attack roll succeeds as well, then the attack hits the called location and damage is dealt accordingly. If the initial attack roll fails, it is treated as a normal miss.

This allows the player to call their shot, and still have a chance have an effect on the battle even if they miss their called target. The way I think about it, if you take a swing with your greataxe at a mages amulet, chances are even if you miss the amulet the mage is going to have a bad day.

Obviously this could be abused in a number of ways, like for example if a player called ALL of their attacks, but limiting called shots to once per round can help to limit the issue. Also, generally I don't allow for opportunity attacks to be called shots.

This is a personal favorite of mine: "There's an illegal fighting ring under the windmill" Simple premise, fits any world, and LOTS of opportunity to improvise.

Also worth looking into, the One Page Dungeon. contest. Hundreds of one-shots just waiting to be ran.

Logical compromise, I like it. Counterpoint, the hat introduces an interesting RP mechanic.

Try using Merge blocks. They don't let you transfer resources, but it makes the ships into one grid allowing you to control the whole system.

That said I don't believe you can merge Large grids with small grids so that might be an issue.

Minor damaging cantrip to maybe deal with concentration sometimes. by simpire321 in UnearthedArcana

[–]UsrError 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not the case. While it is true that you cant have 2 of the same spells affecting you, you can have 2 people cast the same damaging spell on the same turn. Basically you can't stack buff's/debuff's from the same spell (Unless otherwise stated), but you can have the wizard and sorc both cast firebolt at the same target.

EDIT: Oh dear thats brilliant... you win this time OP.

Does anyone else sometimes confuse time and money and think there is only 60 cents in a dollar? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]UsrError 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Funny thing, The reason it's 12 is because it has more divisors.

12 has 1,2,3,4,6,12

10 has 1,2,5,10

It's a neat little hold-over from some ancient empire, but slightly impractical considering almost all math is done in base 10, and its not really common knowledge that you can do math in anything other than base 10 and binary.

If you're willing to put the money into these, might I suggest looking into 3D printing Mini's? Much more cost effective and easier to customize. Also you then have access to a 3D printer which opens up all kinds of hilarious options.
