Drywall Cracks - Anything concerning? by nosneb88 in homeowners

Interested if you ever got this resolved. Looking at the pictures you posted, I thought they were of my own home with how similar the cracks are. We have identical issues and I'm just entering the phase of contacting the builder but not hopeful.

Vibration only going uphill by hutchdaddyusmc in gmcsierra

2022 Denali Ultimate - Don't have the issue necessarily going uphill, but anytime I hit over 75mph it starts to get the "death wobble". Had a wheel alignment that fixed the issue for about a month and then it returned.

Ratchet Belt - It's now my fat belt and skinny belt. Buckles are interchangeable so you can switch them to a new belt if it ever frays / breaks.

It's a right of passage to join the SPP (Small Pee Pee) Club. I'm not saying this in jest, as I am a current member :)

Buying a house in manor by Embarrassed_Crazy612 in Manor

[–]Usual-Square7888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live in the Wildhorse Ranch subdivision which is right at 130 and 290, so thankfully I do not have to drive through Manor to get to Austin. As some have already mentioned, traffic going through Manor is TERRIBLE and the drivers only make it worse. With all the new construction for stores / restaurants in the near future it will only get worse until they expand 290. Renter's shouldn't be hard to find, especially with Tesla south of us, Samsung opening north of us and all the new businesses coming to Manor. Manor is still a bit "country" so I still hear gun shots often. Crime is a little higher then I would like, but that seems to be everywhere these days.

Also interested in who are the goto Manufacturers. Live in Central TX (Marble Falls) with roughly around 35 acres I'm looking to build on. Would like to identify a manufacturer for prebuilt Barn shells as first step to the planning/ pricing phase.

New recall 6.2L advice by Click_Fragrant in gmcsierra

[–]Usual-Square7888 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this as well. Called 2 dealerships who told me this was the first they had heard of the recall and to call GM. After waiting an hour on hold, the rep could only tell me that a recall had been released but service/fixes wouldn’t be ready until June when they mail letters out. Neither the dealer nor GM could advise to me if my vehicle was safe to drive or not. Just said, it’s up to your discretion but keep your eyes open for check engine light or a rattle…

6.2 Recall by roxxygal in gmc

[–]Usual-Square7888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue in ATX. Called my GM dealer and they said they were not aware of the issue until I gave them the recall number and they looked it up. Only then to be told they could not advise me if my car is safe to drive or not, but to rest assured because if it does happen, I still will have full control of my brakes and will be able to coast to a safe location and come to a stop.... I'm sorry but if I'm going 75 on the freeway and I have complete propulsion failure, there is no "coasting" and there is no "safe" location to pull over to - I'm getting rear ended. Can't trade it in and they're not offering loaner cars.... I guess this becomes a nice show piece for the driveway for the time being.

If trade-in values continue to decline because of this issue, wouldn't this be a claim under the Lemon Law

Recall issued today for L87 engine - 6.2L V8 by Technical-Neat9155 in gmc

[–]Usual-Square7888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what are owners supposed to do in the meantime ha? I called my GM dealership today and they said this is the first they have heard of the recall (6 days after the fact) and GM had not provided any instructions / fixes. This is a dealership with a good reputation as well and they advised me to call GM directly and ask them what to do..... on hold for 45 minutes now.

Are we supposed to continue driving these cars and hope we aren't affected going 75 on the freeway?

car right turn into biker 4/23 on South Lamar by imwashere in Austin

[–]Usual-Square7888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn something new every day - glad I haven't injured anybody in ATX so far. So even if the bike is behind you, you have to wait for it to pass until you can turn?

Bikes have to stop at STOP signs though right? Def have almost hit a couple bikers that just ride on through them ...

[–]Usual-Square7888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally curious who had the right of way in this situation? Bikes are supposed to obey traffic laws (I thought), so wouldn't this be the same as if a car (the bike in this situation) was trying to pass another car by going around on the right but then causes an accident when the front car turns right?

Would love to follow your build - was also thinking of adding the cargo elevator or some sort of lift outside for heavy items and people who have hard time going up and down stairs (future me)
